Saturday was a pretty dreary day by Florida standards. It was raining off and on and was quite windy. With the so, so weather, we thought it would be a great day to take a little trip to the beach
The great thing about going to the beach when the weather is less than ideal is that we pretty much have the entire beach to ourselves. And this visit proved no different than our other crappy weather beach days.
Henry didn't care what the weather was like. He was happy to feel the sand between his paws. He walked the entire dog beach section and since it was low tide we were able to trek to a part of the beach that we aren't able to access very often. That was his favorite part, of course. It was his big moment to stray off the beaten path.
Considering that it was windy on the mainland, it was super windy on the beach. I think this big gust of wind almost blew Henry over! It was a warm breeze though so that helped.

After Benny and Luna passed, Henry has been trying to have Cupid join his pack. So far, Cupid has been sending him mixed messages.
Cupid is more than happy to be part of Henry's pack when it comes time to eat. Whenever we feed Henry, Cupid comes right up and eats right next to Henry just like Benny and Luna used to do.
But, when it comes to snuggling and lounging around, this is the best Cupid can do. In her mind, they are totally cuddling right now.

It's hard to believe, but Thanksgiving is just one week away! This year, Henry received an invitation to come to Thanksgiving dinner from Grammy. In previous years, the pugs have stayed at home while the humans went to Grammy's and hung out with the family. But Grammy knows how Henry has been having some separation anxiety and how Henry, by himself, is a really good boy. So, she gave him the green light to come on over for Thanksgiving dinner.
We are super excited to be able to bring Henry to Thanksgiving. Now, he just needs to live up to that good boy part

My apologies for posting a picture of this poor fish. We found him our Sunday walk and I had to take a picture for Luna. Luna was the queen of finding dead fish and then rolling on them. Yep, rolling on them!
She once found a dead fish on one of our walks through the neighborhood that a bird must have dropped for her. She was pleased as punch when she found it and of course she rolled all over it.
If she couldn't find any fish, she was just as happy to roll in bird poop (processed fish in her mind, I guess). At the park where we spotted this poor fishy, she once rolled in bird poop and was so covered in it that I wasn't sure how we were going to get her home. We don't live too far from the park, but I gagged the whole way home from the smell of her in the car. Needless to say, she got 5 baths that night.
If Luna would have been on our Sunday adventure with us, I know once she saw that fishy, she would have stopped, dropped and rolled!

On Henry's Sunday adventure he conquered this big hill. Which says a lot because it is really hard to find hills in Florida.
In case you can't spot Henry in the first picture here is a closer look.
What was Henry's favorite part of climbing up this big hill? That it was off the path. Henry isn't much to sticking to the beaten path. He'd much rather blaze his own trail.
