Toenails

About a year ago, we switched from nail clippers to a nail grinder. The toenail cutting process in general is very hectic, but the switch to the nail grinder has helped tremendously. The only problem is that Luna is terrified of the toenail grinder. We are not really sure what she is afraid of, but while her brothers are getting their nails trimmed Luna likes to hang out in the bathroom. When it is her turn to have her nails trimmed she is very cooperative. She sits very still, but as soon as she is done she makes a beeline to get away from the evil nail grinder.

Oh Luna! Such a good girl!
Oh Miss Luna!!!
You so good for your Mama!
Such a pretty, good girl! There are those gorgeous lashes I love so much.
What a sweetie, and so patient to get her nails done. I just want to smooch her up! Hugs from NJ. xo Patty
Miss Luna is just precious.
Is it just the picture or does she have one lighter toenail? She’s so cute!
precious Luna such a good girl wish my gang would let me do theres I have to take them to the groomers and she has no problem but when I try they start squirming and crying
It’s ok Luna. My Missy is terrified of everything. There is no way I could get even close with one of those scary things.
Little Luna probably doesn’t like the noise (something like hearing the drill in the dentist’s office). Be thankful that she will at least sit still and let you file her nails. Bella won’t stand OR sit for either method and she struggles at the vets to where it always takes 2 of them (or 3 - with me along). I’ve been “working with her” to get her bandages removed from the paw she had to have lanced and drained at the vet’s on Monday. With her allergies - she’s more susceptible than most to puncturing wounds on her pads and then they become infected and swollen. So another round of anti-biotics and a few more tub-soaks in Epsom salts and she should be good to do for awhile. I’m thinking of putting her in some little “PUGZ” boots for the remainder of the winter.
Forgot to add - That is one adorable picture of Miss L!
What a sweetheart. They don’t get any better than Luna (but don’t tell my gang I said that). I think a nail grinder is the only way to go for a pug’s nails. I got one but the noise drove Abby up the wall so I had to take it back. You guys that are able to do it yourselves have my admiration. Now we just take them to the groomer and it takes her all of five minutes - for all three! However, even with grinding, it takes them all of ten minutes to need them done again. Ah, the joy of pugs’ nails.
Mary, I was sorry to hear what a problem Bella has with her feet. Gosh, that’s awful. Best of luck.
Good Girl Luna. What a Sweetie you are!!!
Pug hugs and kisses for you from a pug lover in Georgia!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo
Oh Sweet Luna…I haves the same problem! When anyone touches my little feets with somethin in ther hands I YELL AND FIGHT AS HARD AS I CAN.
I have not been receiving my OWNED BY PUGS in my mail box!
What am I doing wrong?
London is a very mild-mannered boy and did not like to have his nails clipped, so we bought the nail grinder. We tried to introduce it gradually, not even touching him with it for the first few times. By about the 3rd time we actually tried to use it on him, he tried to bite his dad in order to get away from the grinder. The tool went to Salvation Army after that and we are back to the clippers and London is his mild-mannered self again.
I’m playing catch up today! It’s actually Friday! Bella fights the nail clipping. I can sort of do it if Bella’s Daddy and PawPaw (Grandpa) hold her. She would probably pass out from fear if we did the grinder.
Mary C., so sorry to hear about Bella’s paws. I hope she recovers quickly.
Luna, you are a purty girl!
Pug Hugs to ya’ll from Bella & me.

Clear, informative, simple. Could I send you some e-hugs?
