Things you might not know about the pugs

Sol lets out a little toot almost every time you pick her up. It adds to her old lady charm.

Henry is highly offended by farts and even fart sounds. If you pass gas, he will walk off in a huff and glare at your from across the room. He will even leave if you are petting him. That's how offended he gets.

Benjamin is terrified of sewers. If he comes upon a sewer unexpectedly he will drop to his belly and scrape his nails. He knows where every single sewer is in our neighborhood and stays as far away as possible on each walk. He has been like this since the day we brought him home. In fact, he almost got hit by a car on our very first walk together. He saw a sewer & hit the ground and a car turned a corner and almost hit us both. At first I had no idea why he hit the ground & was trembling in fear, but after a few days I figured out he was afraid of all the sewers in the neighborhood. After he made a mental map of all the drain locations he did a lot better on walks.

Luna eats dried worms. Or at least she tries to when we are not looking.
Well, there you have it. A few pug secrets exposed.

This made me laugh! What a way to start the morning LOL
HAH! That is hilarious.
I wonder why sewers…
Bentley toots a lot too, but when he does it, he looks around and his glance usually lands on me like “Hey, are you going to say EXCUSE ME?” As if he is blaming me! HAH
Oh how I loved this….hahahaha. Love learning more about the gang! My Baxter is also highly offended with bodily functions, the distinguished gentleman that he is.
Great way to start the day…as always.
Great tales and laughs! Beauty does not seem to have the gas issue but she does have sneezing fits and on several occassions, she has hit her face(already smushed)into the floor-for an additional amount of SMUSH!
How funny and delightful at the same time. Each of the pugs has their own uniqueness. Sol and Henry made we laugh. Benny made we go awww and Luna made me go yuck. Thanks for a litte more insight on the sweethearts.
Here’s what the pugs were thinking after they read today’s post:
Sol: I can’t believe she told them about my toots.
Henry: Well, of course I’m offended.
Baby Benjamin: I don’t understand why everyone isn’t afraid of them.
Luna: Help me. I need a 12 step program.
OMDDDDDDDDDDD Why am I SO in love with SOL!!!!!! TOO CUTE!
Martha…you nailed it! Very very funny.
It’s obvious that Baby Benny has read Stephen King’s “It”. He does know more than most of us…beware of sewers. There’s a terrifying clown lurking down there! What a literate pup!
Patty B, that brings to mind my favorite line from “It”. “We all float down here.”
I am laughing my fool head off! C.J. toots a lot and he’s also the only dog I’ve ever owns that burps out loud.
This was a great post and don’t worry, pugs! It’ll just be our little secret!
Oh My Gosh!! Hilarious!
I had a great laugh this morning. I love these babies!
Thanks Corrine.
My Rosco “throws his brakes on” when he sees the sewers too! He’s done it every since he was little.
LOL! I love it! In paricular Sol & Henry.
Haha your poor pugs!
Mine our both huge burpers.. it sounds human when they do it.
Gus is a tooter..he will walk along letting them go. But he also loves it when a human toots, he needs to get right up there and sniff. Very delightful.
Indy used to have this fear of mini pumpkins(the little gourds) when she was a puppy.. freaked right out. Now.. I don’t think they have any fears.
My Birdy would walk around and be tooting. And unlike Sleighbelle’s which are silent but deadly; you could actually hear Birdy’s! She always made me laugh. And like other pugs, when Sleighbelle toots, she looks at me like, “How rude” and walks away!
Martha, great quotes from the pugs.
My Annie comes to find me after every meal so she can burp loudly in my face. I like to think she is expressing her thanks and satisfaction. Then she wags her tail and runs back to lick the bowl! It is hilarious.
I’m sure it’s because she scarfs it all down so fast that she swallows half her weight in air!
I seriously have to stop reading your blog while I’m at work cause between you and all the comments I am sitting at my desk just cracking up! This was quite an expose. Dried worms…I love it!
It’s hard to pick a favorite blog, but I think that this was my favorite. I love how they are each so different! What a great way as always to start the day, but this was the funniest OBP blog I have read. Love the pics that went with each testimonial. TOO CUTE!!!!
Love this post…too funny! Martha, you summed it up perfectly
I bet Sol makes tooting adorable and well, little Luna…really, dried worms…yucky!
Of my boys, Piper is the tooter and Marley is the burper and he burps like a frat boy after a keg party!!! My girls, Annabelle and Tessa, are pretty girly and don’t commit such offenses
This would definitely get a “thumbs-up, I like” on FB!! Loved it!
My Beanie won’t stop eating acorns, all the squirrels are mad at her!
Luna and our pug girl Moquito should be pals— Moe adores the scent of dried worms. She rolls around on top of any dried worm she finds, as if she wants to be completely covered in the intoxicating aroma. But I do not get it.
Count your blessings that she only eats worms. My grandpuggle eats slugs! Big, huge, slimy slugs! She’s learned not to go for the 4 inch ones because I can get those out of her throat and they make her need to have her face scrubbed. So she goes for the ones about 1 in - she can swallow them before I can get to her. Yes, we live in the PNW where slugs get huge and super slimy. There’s been times when she’s been so slimmed that her whole face including her nostrils were sealed off. Gross, disgusting, and scary too.
