The Tongue
During her last teeth cleaning, Sol had her last remaining canine tooth removed on the top. It was in such bad shape that it just had to be pulled. She doesn't seem to miss the tooth too much and the only noticeable difference is that her tongue peeks out from time to time.
Tongue lag, as my veterinarian calls it, was one of the most noted side effects of her jaw surgery and was a change that we were warned about in all the pre-surgery meetings. However, Sol did not experience any tongue lag after a part of her lower jaw was removed. The only noticeable difference was a little lip pout which isn't even noticeable from aftar. And while I am on the subject of her jaw surgery, I have been meaning to send a thank you card to her surgeon. Every veterinarian that has since looked at Sol's jaw has commented on what an excellent job the surgeon did. I agree 100% and while I can't rattle off a list of medical reasons on why it was such a good job, I think it was such a great job because the surgery hasn't slowed Sol down one bit. Her recovery was quick and it took very little time for her to adjust to her new mouth.
So from time to time, Solsey's little tongue will be sticking out. She rarely leaves it that way for long, but I think it just adds to her charm.

I just love it when my pug’s tongue sticks out a little when he is sleeping.

OK, we’re all pug momma’s so no one will take this the wrong way when I say that I just want to kiss her right on that lil’ tongue…Is that not the most precious sight of all time!??! Honestly, I don’t think she can get any more precious and endearing…I think her pout is fabulous and love when I can pick it out in a picture.

This picture reminds me so much of my Bo Peep. Her little tongue stuck out a lot just like that. My vet used to tell her he was going to take her so she could lick all his Christmas card envelopes. Thanks for the sweet memory precious Solsey.
O Sol, How we love you. My tongue hangs out when I am asleep on by back with all four legs curled up on my tummie.

it dosen’t matter if her tongue sticks out a little she still is a beautiful girl you are such a good mommy they all four are very blessed to have you I know all five of mine are my babies very spoiled as most pug owners are have a great weekend

and I don’t think Little Miss Sol could get anymore precious!!! I just love her and all the OBP gang.
I’m so happy to have my computer back up and working, it’s only been down about a week and I’ve gone into OBP withdrawls!!!
Little Miss Sleighbelle doesn’t have a ton of teeth left either…I’ll be anxious to see if she will start a tongue lag of her own!
It does add to her charm, her face is even cuter now then it was before (if possible). Gus gets the little tongue sticking out too just like that. Then he yawns or grabs a toy and it’s gone.
