Rocky

To help Henry get ready to go to work with me, we have been practicing going up and down stairs. Whenever we come across a set of stairs we make Henry climb them. He's always hesitant at first, but then he eventually comes around and works his way up them.

And once he is up them, there is always the task of getting back down them. Which to me is the scarier part, but not for Henry. He goes down the steps much faster than he goes up the steps for some reason.

And whenever we get to a set of stairs, I like to remind Henry that he lived in a 3 story house for the first 2 years of his life. Henry and Benjamin used to race up and down the stairs like wild men. They would chase, push and pummel and do all kinds of unsafe things on the stairs. But, after almost 10 years of Florida living and rarely encountering stairs, Henry seems to have forgotten all about his stair adventures as a young pug.

my gang panic near stairs I have to carry them up and down
I love you, Henry! It’s a whole new world for you these days, solo…but it’s nice to see you smiling your way thru these new adventures.
Henry since I am still recovering from a fractured hip, stairs are a challenge, bur going down them is the scariest part for me. Right now I can only do one step at a time. Maybe we can help each other.
When the time comes, I bet he will climb the stairs like a champ.
Since we live on one floor, Bennie has acted the same way when we’ve encountered stairs. I guess it’s a skill that’s best to use every day!
I can easily imagine Benjamin and Henry as “kids” racing each other up and down, and all the mayhem that would occur!
Henry love seeing you smile & taking on the stairs so you can go to work with mom. Sue VDB-one day at a time-keeping you in prayer as you recouperate. Pug hugs from pastor sue & the Colorado 2
For the last 3 years of her life, I had to carry my Angel upstairs & down because she was a bit afraid of them. She also had a set of doggie stairs to get up and down off the bed too. She had no problems when she was younger and would race up and down just like Henry.

Meiling would fly up and down our 22 stairs until she went blind——now she cautiously takes
only stairs she has climbed before. I do a lot of heavy pug lifting! I bet Henry will get the hang of your work stairs in no time at all. I am so happy to see Henry doing so well.
Oh Henry, you are so sweet. How exciting that you get to go to work with Mommy. Bella can go up stairs but usually doesn’t since she is a princess, I need to carry her. Since she was a puppy mill Mommy (adopt don’t shop!) she never learned to go downstairs. I don’t mind carrying her. She deserves to be treated like a princess! Smooches to you Henry!
Sleighbelle was funny the first time she came to stairs. I’m walking up them and she put on the brakes and dug her heels in and I ended up almost falling backward down the stairs. You know how a pug is when they refuse to move! I went back down, and carried her up. It took a few tries, but she too came to be ok with the stairs.
I love his face, Henry has such a sweet, handsome face…I just want to give him a big hug!! Love to him and you guys from Delaware!!
Humming Rocky theme for you Henry!
The only stairs my pugs encounter are the ones that get them on the bed and the couch. Once a month they do have to go up about 4 stairs to get to their groomer. I don’t think my guys could be as good as Henry.
