New Wheels
After 13 good years, the time came to get a new car. Last week we traded in our Nissan Xterra and got a Subaru Outback. It was a bittersweet day because we had so many memories with the Xterra - especially pug memories. That was the car that we picked up Looney in when we adopted her, and it is also the car that probably still has some of Benny's vomit in it, tucked away in some nook or cranny.
Subaru is known as being a very pet friendly company and we almost took Henry on the test drive with us. We thought he would have fun, but we figured we better leave him behind so that we could fully focus our attention on the car buying process.
After we bought the car and brought it home, Henry seemed pretty happy with it. If he had his way, he would have had us purchase a gigantic pickup truck. Pickup trucks are his favorite. And the bigger the better.
Its not a pickup truck, but I think Henry will be pretty happy running his errands in this car.

Congratulations on a new vehicle.
Like we humans have our “druthers”, we can be happy with “others” as well, and I think Henry is just fine with that as long as he gets to ride.

Oh my gosh, looking back at the post of you bringing Luna home—I can’t believe how dark her mask was! She gracefully aged into a beautiful grey lady.
Congratulations on the new car. I hope Henry will be very happy hanging his head out the window. And as for big trucks? Heck yes! This Texas girl loves her a big ol’ Ford F350!!!

Sweeeeet! I like it, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it so much!! I get ridiculously sentimental about trading cars in, and have even been known to kiss them good-bye! (I told you - I’m ridiculous.) So I understand your bittersweet day.
Sleighbelle’s comment made me laugh, because this Texas girl loves driving our Chevy pickup! It’s amazing how many people drive trucks here. Do you think that Henry might have a bit of Texan in him?
Good choice of vehicle. I have a Subaru Forester and other than regular check-ups, nothing has gone wrong with it and it’s a 2007. Looks and runs like new. Hope Henry has many a good ride in HIS new car.

I had a Subaru that ran for over 200,000 miles; they are great cars. I noticed that your interior color is “pug fawn” and I laughed because when we bought a new car last year, we got also got a beige interior to match our pugs! I wondered if you also did this. I find that I don’t have to vacuum quite as frequently because I can’t see all the hair. Now, if we could only get our duo to sit as nicely as Henry!!

I am very happy to hear that there are some happy Subaru owners in OBP land. Durability and maintenance was a big reason we decided on Subaru. And “pug fawn” interior color is definitely a plus! Being pug color wasn’t the sole reason we went with that interior color but it definitely played a part. Lol.
And Martha, not only did I kiss my truck before I traded it in, but I may have shed a tear or two!
I drive a Dodge truck. I feel it is entirely possible that Henry has a little Texan in him. Love the new car. Looks pretty snazzy.
