I'm pretty sure these have to be the most kissed wrinkles in the world! When he was a pup, Benny used to get squirmy when you tried to give him kisses, but now, he has just come to expect a daily heaping of them.
Heck, even Henry finds Benny's wrinkles irresistible. When the two of them are playing, Henry frequently grabs a hold of Benny by his wrinkles and drags him around. Brothers.

Benjamin, your wrinkles are irresistable!!! I want to smooch them all. Corrine, I think the OBP fan club needs video of hank latching on to benny’s wrinkles!! How cute is that!?
Just what I was thinking Heather. The picture of that is etched in my brain and I thought how hilarious it would be to see that. Pugs are so funny.
Report on Romeo was not in Saturday. I take Missy in this morning for a Phenobarbital check so I will ask for answers then.
I second that video motion. Gosh Benny! It’s gotta be tuff to be so danged irresitable - but you wear it well.
Between your wrinkles and those velvet-petal ears of yours . . . you are one handsome devil!!! (not to dis-clude brother Henry and your sweet-as-pie sister, La Luna)
Hope everyone is soaking up the HOT and the HUMID if such be your area’s current climate. We have the Girl’s State Softball Tournaments starting today in our fair city (Fort Dodge, IA) My heart goes out to all of them - and their parents - sweating loyally in the bleachers. Our great Iowa bike ride (RAGBRAI)starts next week - so we’re not expecting any noticable cool down for awhile. Seems to be part of the tradition for both. GAAAHHH!
What wonderful wrinkles! Of course, tonight, you should give him extra kisses from all of us!
I think the wrinkles, velvety ears, eager -loving fun filled eyes (that can turn sad at a moments notice) are what gets a pug lover every time!!
Benny-bag-o-wrinkles.. love ya baby!
Hope you are all managing well at staying cool. While the temp doesn’t get as hot where I am compared to some of you… when the temp goes up to what we are not used to.. there’s a whole lotta pantin’ going on!!
Kiss, Kiss, Hug,Hug.. to all puggers!
Pat, just love “Benny-Bag-O-Wrinkles” *giggle*
SMOOCHES to you Baby Benny…Be prepared because tonight Momma’s gonna give you extra lovin from all us OBPers…and we all want to nomnomnom those wrinkles!!
And those wrinkles deserve every kiss they get!
I totally agree. How can you resist those irresistable wrinkles??? When my daughter brought Genevieve to me 8 yrs ago, I knew very little about pugs. I called her name and she tilted her head at me just like “you talking to me”? I was totally hooked and have been ever since, little did I know how my life would change and so revolve around those litle wrinkles and big eyes.
Mary, your post brought back memories of the good old days when we drove all over Texas for softball games. All 3 of my girls played and my 2 granddaughters also.
The only state tournament we played in was in Austin several yrs ago. It was the hottest summer since 1980. Naturally, and Austin is so hot and humid anyway.
Sue, hope you get a good report on Romeo and Missy.
Today is the anniversary of the death of our Luke #1. Doesn’t seems possible. My hubby said the sweetest thing last night. He said Luke taught him how much it was possible to love a little dog. And my hubby is an extreme animal lover so I knew little Luke meant the world to him. Hope everyone has a good week.
Brenda, is it a year already? Try to keep the day happy with the good memories of Luke #1.
Romeo’s second test did not reveal anything. I have opted not to have the MRI because it is so expensive and even if it does definitely show Cushing’s, Jim and I are very hesitant about putting him on any meds because of the toxicity. He now has a script for thyroid meds to see if some of the symptoms are aleviated. Chances are Romeo does have Cushing’s. In all my research and talking with other people, results vary. My friend Lucy, had Taz, and I asked OBP friends to pray for him. He did not last long. I spoke with another lady you had a cairn terrier diagonosed at age 10 and lived to 16 without meds. I am really torn, but think not giving him any of thee toxic meds is the best for him given his sensitivity. I pray this is the right decision. Romeo goes in for 60 day check after being on thyroid meds, and hopefully this will help him. Thanks again you dear people.
Sounds like a good decision to me, Sue, and I’ll be keeping sweet Romeo in my prayers!
Ohhhhhh, how I want a wrinkled pug like Benny. (Actually, I’d like to have Benny - shhhhhhhhhh) Does he ever take a bad picture? I think not. And, ohhhh, those ‘winkles’ how smoochable he is. Glad to know he has gotten over his ‘don’t kiss’ foible. Now, Corrine, you have to give him a kiss from each OBPer pronto.
Sue VDB - is there any information available on choosing not to medicate for Cushings? I know you’re scared and worried for him, but we’re here for you and maybe we can find some helpful literature for you. Pug hugs and love,
Huckle,
Abby, Gracie, Georgie & “tah da” Cooper
SUE VDB: Hang in there. You definitely have ROMEO’s comfort and well-being as uppermost priority. Will hope and pray for the best. (Has Romeo had a lot of allergy issues? As I’m sure you’ve also read that heavy/frequent doses of prednisone can elevate the cortisol production and contribute to the possibility of Cushings. This was news to me - and I’m going to do more checking with my vet to seek out alternatives for Bella.)
Sue VDB, let’s just hope and pray the symptoms are alleviated with the thyroid med…
Brenda…happy memories today ONLY!
OMG, Huckle…totally dying here…Cooper got a “tah da”?! What happened? LMAO
Hey Corrine, did you ever think that the “stinkles” are the result of all those slobbery kisses you give him? Yes, I’m saying it: YOU might be the cause of his stinkles!!!! hahahahaha
Oh Benny, your wrinkles are the cutest! Smooches! Corey, Jadey and I miss you and hope you are being good!
How could any one resist Bennys wrinkles
Gotta love that Benny and his wrinkles
Such a pretty boy!
Sue VDB, sure hope Romeo and you get adjusted to the thyroid med routine. Sending prayers your way.
I am pugless this week, it is so lonely!!! I had my mom take Abby, because she has central air, and I just have a dumb room a/c that makes little difference, and with the heat index over 100, I didn’t want to stress Abby out any more than needed. I miss my girl!!!!!
Pug mama - it’s hard to know and then do the best thing for our furbabies. Hang in there, you’re doing what’s best for Abby and hopefully this heat will be over soon (although we are supposed to be at 102 on Thursday). Today was 92 but of course that produced several severe thunderstorms that have passed us by now. Will your mom let you “visit” or better yet, stay there? It sure is hard to be without our babies for any length of time.
Corrine - have you ever counted Benny’s wrinkles? That might be a blog game for all of us! (Could the prize be Benny?)
pug mama, I say pack up and join Abby at pug mama’s mama’s place! You need to stay cool too!
pug mama: I totally agree with Karen B. (and it rhymes!) You and Abby would both be cool and happier. I remember the days before A/C - my parents and I would move everything down to our unfinished basement - couch, TV and fan. It was either that or live at the theatre for their A/C and popcorn. (I would’ve voted for that, actually.)
Benny - your are pug-licious with those divine wrinkles ans crinkles, why can’t us humans also be dive with our wrinkles and creases?? and be call adorable instead of being ‘old hags’
Sue VDB - prayers for Romeo!! Brenda just think of Luke playing and cavorting around over the Rainbow Bridge and send him a zillion kisses tonight
Pug hugs
