MishMashed Monday
Well yesterday was the SuperBowl. No matter which team you were rooting for, we hope you all had a fun time watching. You probably had more fun watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet, though! Sorry this is complete fluff this Monday. I've been on a business trip the last week and am just trying to get back into the groove. Peep #2 took vacation time to stay home with Henry and Grammy got a Henry vacation. She will need it since Henry's needs are much greater and she will need to be on her A game like never before! So, talk about a mishmash for this Monday! Whoosh! I will do my best to try to get this train back on track this week!

I never usually comment, but prayers are needed for our sweet Jackie. She was diagnosed with COPD last Wednesday and her coughing seemed slightly better after being on steroids for five days, but yesterday she just couldn’t stop panting and coughing so we had to take her to the emergency vet. No good news there. She has very little function of her lungs and they think it’s congestive heart failure. She’s in an oxygen cage and they didn’t think she would make it through then night if we brought her home. Ultrasound scheduled for today, but major snow is on the way here in eastern CT so I hope the ultrasoundographer(?) will make it there. We know she’s very nervous and scared so she will just keep panting and it’s just a viscous cycle. My husband thinks we should just bring her home and she will calm down. Can’t say that I really disagree with him, but she can’t come off the oxygen. Sorry this is so long and rambling, but I know only OBP people can really understand how devastating this is to us.
So sorry for your sweet Jackie, Becky. Sending many prayers.

Prayers coming your way Jackie…hope everything turns out okay. Henry you look adorable in this picture, wish I could be snuggling with you! I wanted to see pugs in the puppy bowl, but, my dogs sure had a good time watching it. They were playing the game right with them!!!

The Puppy Bowl was extra exciting for me because our hometown shelter, Operation Kindness, was represented by Darby on Team Ruff! All the pups were adorable and winners!

Becky, my prayers are with you and Jackie. I know only too well the effects of COPD and heart failure, as I nursed my husband for the same thing.
Henry, you are one passed out puggy baby. Glad Peep #1 is back home and I know you are as well.
I watched the Puppy Bowl twice. It was totally entertaining. I did not watch the Super Bowl… had no interest.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. Sadly, Jackie went to the bridge this afternoon. In the doctor’s words, it was too many years of being a pug. There was nothing we could do for her except let her go.
Becky, I am so sorry you lost your Jackie. Please find comfort in the great memories of her and in the fact you gave her one final gift of love by releasing her from her pain.
Becky, I’m so sorry to hear about your baby. I’m going through very much the same thing with my 14 yr old Genevieve. My prayers are with you and your husband.
