Mimo

Do you remember Mimo? In 2007 we planted a Mimosa seed and were pleased as punch when it actually sprouted. A little over four years later, Mimo provides wonderful shade in the backyard. It is perfect for the pugs.
Here are a few shots of Mimo over the years: April 2007, June 2008 and April 2009.

what a very nice tree it’s beautiful and so are those lawn puuy ornaments lol, they are so sweet.
Corrine, can I come take a vacation at your house!? I can’t believe how big Mimo has gotten!!! That spot, amongst the shade of the tree, with the crisp white of the fence and bench, just looks so peaceful and inviting…All those cute puggas don’t hurt the landscape either!
Sue VDB - How is precious Romeo doing this morning? Did he get a good night’s rest? You are both in my thoughts and prayers…kisses to Romeo, hug for you, and thanks up to St. Francis!
Beautiful Mimo!! how wonderful you started it from a seedling!! It looks like a nice spot to relax for sure!!
Sue VDB & Romeo - thinking of yo and hoping all is well xo
That’s a 4 year old tree?! Wonderful! Great choice!
Wow! Mimo has GROWN! Has is really been 4 years?
Reminiscing on the old posts and I can’t believe I’ve known you guys for over 3 years…LOVE that!!! Love all of the OBP family!!!!
Sue VDB ~ I’m so sorry I missed the events with Romeo! I hope he is doing better. I hope you got some sleep. Pip is due for his vaccines. I will be watching him more closely than normal this time around!
Roberta ~ I hope Coco’s eyes are doing better!
I love this picture. That is amazing that tree grew from a little seed! I realize they all do (ha ha) but so neat that you planted it yourself Corrine! And I love the puggers just laying about!
Anyone directly affected by the storms in the Southeast? Sending tons of prayers their way.
Pug Hugs to all from Gina & Pip
Mimo has grown to be a beautiful tree, but I like the “lawn ornaments” even better.
I sincerely hope and pray that none of our OBP family has been affected by the horribe weather last night. That was very intense and the weathermen were astounded by the fierceness of it all.
Heather, Pat and Gina, Romeo is doing fine. I keep thinking he is not 100%, but he is not as active as he once was, and I think I am watching him so closely that the little changes in him are normal aging and not associated with anything else. And yes, thank you, I slept like a log last night. Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers.
Sue VDB, I’m so glad Romeo is doing better! A good Romeo means Sue sleeps like a log : )
And as for Mimo, wow! It’s so interesting to compare the pictures and see how fast it’s grown in only four years. Before you know it, Corrine, you’ll have to start pruning it. They really are pretty, and it is a very inviting spot in your yard.
Sweet Jesus! Mimo’s HUGE!!! Must be all the good pug pee!!!
I cant get over how big the tree got in four years I have a tree in my back yard that looks like a mimo but has to be different it gets purple flowers on it before all the leaves bloom it gives the yard a lot of shade which the gang loves
Sue VDB glad to hear Romeo is doing good and you got some rest
Of course I remember Mimo! Looks like the pugs have done a great job “watering” it! It is a beautiful tree!
Roberta, I really need to apologize. In my concern for Romeo, I never once mentioned your Coco. Hope Coco’s eyes are better. I love summer, but it is very hard on Romeo’s allergies. I hate the prednisone, and found a holistic vet in my area. I am thinking about taking him to her when his allergies kick in full time.
What a pretty tree, perfect for some shade for 3 beautiful pretty pugs!!
Sue VDB and Romeo, glad you both are getting rested up and that Romeo recovered from his vaccine reaction, you had me worried <3
Hey Corrine,
Would you be willing to send out any seed pods? I’ll pay you for them. I love growing things. I have grown quite a few apple trees from seeds and a cotton wood from a seedling in a flower pot I bought. I’d love to try one of these! They are very unique. Let me know. No big deal either way.
Thanks!
Darci! How are you? How is your baby girl? I’ve been thinking of you and was hoping all was well!
Heather - The more the merrier
Darci - Of course! I would be more than happy to send you some seeds. Just email me your address and the next time it drops some seed pods I will mail you some.
Sue VDB - I’m glad to hear that Romeo is doing much better. Sorry he gave you such a scare!
Roberta - Good luck with Coco’s eyes. Allergies are no fun!
Hi Gina,
We’re great! She is so very sweet. Thanks for asking. I don’t seem to get on here as much anymore. I find myself reading posts for three or four days at a time to catch up, but I ALWAYS catch up! How are your girls doing?
Hi Darcy ~ Glad to hear everything is going good. My girls are fine. We’re really ready for warmer weather so we can play outside and go to the zoo and the park etc… Cabin Fever big time!!!!
Happy to hear you’re doing well!
wow, i can’t believe how much she has grown in just four years! when i was a little girl we had a huge mimosa tree right outside my bedroom window. i used to pretend that they were fairies, and make up all kinds of stories about them. this picture brought back some really good memories.
