Sammy isn’t bothered in the least by fireworks, thunder, or any other loud noises, unless they are from other barking dogs or the UPS man.  The UPS man drives him crazy.  Must be the brown truck…

They are sooooo cute and cozy in that picture…Togetherness - a beautiful thing.  Bax and Ri aren’t really phased by the booms…not even thunder really.  This is not to say they don’t find many other things to be vocal about!!

How adorable they are!  Funny, Biscuit and Rascal don’t ever crawl under blankets.  On the odd occasion that I’ve place a bit of blanket or sheet over them, when it was cold, they always seem to scoot away, not seeming to like it. lol

This will be the 2nd 4th of July for the guys.  We chose not to go to the fireworks last year because we were afraid it would scare them.  This year, don’t know.  It will be interesting to see how they react to the neighborhood bangs and sizzles.  I’m sure there will be lots of barking going on.

I have two pugs and our youngest and first one Sequoia doesn’t mind the booms. We took her to the fireworks show last year to get her used to the booms when she was still a puupy. But our older pug (haven’t had her a year yet) can’t even stand the thunder storm booms so she will be on edge just like your 3 pugs we assume.

Romeo hasn’t really reacted to the fireworks YET.  The big night, which is like a war zone around here, may produce some barks, but nothing excessive.  I feel so sorry for those babies who are terrified.  I hope they are all in a safe and secure place so as not to escape and get lost.

We haven’t taken Mr. Skittles to any fireworks, but the thunder booms make him crazy, so, chances are that he won’t react very well to fireworks.

We always put C.J. and Toeby on their leashes and take them outside when we do our fireworks.  I think they do better seeing what the commotion is about rather than staying inside and just hearing the booms in the distance.  They don’t like the “Piccolo Petes” that whistle really loudly.  I don’t either! :-(  They hurt MY ears!

Gus on the other hand.. last night was the fireworks from Canada Day and they started later then usual and lasted untill 11pm… I had to sit up until 11 (i tried to go to bed at 10pm as I had work today)  as he went completely batty just barking at the door. Poor guy..

Fireworks are illegal within city limits in Texas.  But does that stop folks from buying and shooting them off?  Heck No!  Poor Sleighbelle has a fit with the pops and bangs.  I try to keep her inside as much as possible.  And of course, there is always some jerk that is setting them off late into the night and that wakes her up and gets her to barking.

Benee grew up in Brooklyn - so the only thing that makes him bark (other than someone at the door) is when a firetruck goes by - he starts wagging his tail and runs for the door barking away!
Frankie only barks occasionally - like if they are gated in the kitchen over night and we have happened to oversleep 2 mins past breakfast time! LOL!
We don’t hear any fireworks but the other morning a little dog was barking at Frankie - he started howling and singing - something he never did before - it was like he was telling her to shut her mouth! LOL!

Abbey hates the fireworks if she is in the house.  She barks frantically like someone is trying to break into our house.  However, if we are out on a walk, she doesn’t really seem to mind.  She checks it out, but then we just keep going without incident.

Well my neighbors start even earlier than yours (beginning of june) and this year it literally sounds like gunshots going off…seems a new variety that is even louder.  My dogs are afraid to go outside to pee and if they do half the time they never complete the process because one of the “bombs” goes off and they charge for the house pulling me behind.  This process will continue for at least another month because the neighbors always stock up.  So between the thunderstorms, people target shooting, and the fireworks…my dogs have been shaking, puking, and all out nervous wrecks lately.  I just wish people would limit it to just the one day if they must put up their own.  Hope your pugs calm down a bit soon and don’t bark too loud.

This will be Mushu’s very first Fourth of July so I don’t know. I actually am kenneling him because I am visiting family, and I don’t want him to be around the loud noises.

I have no idea! This will be my Uba’s first Fourth of July and I am very nervous. :|

SOOooo adorable! Happy 4th!!!

When we do our own fireworks in the yard, Ruby generally sits on my lap.  She watches them, and I laugh when she cranes her neck to get a good look.

If she sees them over the other houses as others let them off, she wants to go outside to bark, but she is not scared.  It is more like she wants to join in on the noise.  She struts around on the patio and gives them a good roo-ing.

This is the first year she has noticed storms (not rain, we all know pugs hate going out in rain).  We have had a lot of humdingers with heavy lightning and thunder.  She isn’t sure about those yet, but she doesn’t pant or go batty or anything.  Just looks concerned every once in a while.  We are careful not to baby her when she is like that, don’t want to enforce scared behaviour.

My pug Yoda went crazy when the fireworks started going off. As for my Puggle, Angel, she just sat there quietly and looked at the fireworks. It was funny because every time one went off, she would look at the firework but you would see her muscles tense when the sound went off. I made a video of it. Yoda didn’t care that there was light, all he did was bark. It was hilarious

First off, I love your site and your daily post about the trio.
So, I thought my just 1 year old pug Beauregard, may be skittish about fireworks… not so. We were visting friends that day for lunch, so this is unfamilar territory .

My friends doggies, the two “big dogs” a rottie and a heeler, were scared when the neighbor’s kids started letting it loose during the middle of the day on the 4th. The “Big” dogs ran and hid at the first whistle and crackle, but my Beauregard went out and just sniffed at the fence like he would at any time.

He sat with us through the Big Fireworks show on dad’s lap. He was more interested in the 2 private planes circling overhead than the fireworks. My friend says her 11 old girl could care less about the noise and flashing lights.

Brave little puggies we have here in the high desert of Oregon!

C.J. and Toeby sat and watched the fireworks during the evening with us and weren’t bothered at all.

Earlier in the day, my grandson set off one of those spinning things (I call them Tasmanian Devils!). C.J., (still not supposed to be running around on his leg a lot) took off after the thing and chased it!!!  I guess he had an attack of stupid or somethin’!  After that, of course, the leash went on for the rest of the day and eve!  Such a crazy boy!

Beau watched the big fireworks show on Dad’s lap, and he thought the airplanes and helicopters flying overhead were more interesting.
The fireworks we set off were just small fountains and he didn’t mind them at all.

My neighbors had their own fireworks display last night right in the street in front of my house. The pugs and the shih tsu went crazy. I opened the door just as one went of sending sparkles everywhere and the dogs backpeddled, almost knocking me down, then they went back to the door and barked for all they were worth. I just left the door open for a while and let them see it didn’t bother me. They still barked like crazy!!
