In All Her Glory

Luna has a thing for rolling around in the grass. She gets a good laugh out of me each time she flops herself on her back and flaps around like a fish out of water, even though I know she is just doing it to mark her territory.
There is a whole process leading up to the infamous roll. First she catches a scent that she can’t resist. Then she paws at the grass and then out of nowhere she just flips around and lands smack on back and just wiggles around until she feels like she has adequately covered the scent.
I have been trying my best to get a video of this process, but so far have been unsuccessful. It really is quite a sight and she is ever so pleased with herself when she is finished.

Oh Missy does the same thing and it is sooo cute.
LOVE this picture!! Too funny…Would love to see the process some day…
She looks kinda like a baby seal in that picture. Still ridiculously cute.
Miko does that too - bunch of wierdos
My Pug does this too and I read somewhere that this is actually akin to a cat cleaning himself. Like a self-bath.
Anyway, mine just sort of stands there for a minute and then kind of topples over like he’s falling or diving into water. Then he flops about like a fish out of water and rolls about with a big grin on his face.
My Lucy does the same thing, but she has a little rubber ball that she always rolls on in the grass. I think it gives her a massage.
