Happy Halloween 2015
We hope everyone had a safe, happy and reasonably healthy Halloween. This year, with Henry again being the lone pug and defying many of the predicted odds, we opted to have him dress as UnderDog! There's no need to fear! UnderDog is here!
We feel he is the epitome of an underdog. Defined by Google as "a competitor that has little chance of winning a fight or contest." The way we see it, Henry's cancer was caught by accident and thus, without this dumb luck he would have left us the way Solsey, Benny and Luna have left us. So, who better to don the UnderDog cape then Henry?!
For those of you unfamiliar with UnderDog, here is a snippet.
For those of you who remember, name UnderDog's girlfriend for bonus points!
We weren't sure if Henry was going to go trick-or-treating this year. We decided to make it a game time decision based on how he was doing on Halloween Day. He had a great day on Halloween and just before sunset, we suited him up and he took to the streets to get some treats. Going out while it was still daylight was a huge help to Henry. Here is a short clip of Henry flying to Grammy's house.
Henry also came across this guy while he was out and thought someone ought to give him a few treats to put some meat on his bones!

OMP, what a perfect costume for Henry! I loved both the clip from Underdog ( remember watching that show as a kid) and the video of Henry flying down the street to Grammy’s! Go Henry

Ah-I loved The UnderDog when I was a kid…it reminds me of my dad…:( What an absolutely perfect costume for Henry!!! So glad he was able to do a bit of Trick or Treating…he looks so cute on his way to Grammy’s:) And I do remember…Sweet Polly Purebread was his girlfriend!!!
No sight needed going to Grammy’s house. I think I fall more in love with you Henry as you overcome all the obstacles that have been thrown in your path. ♥♥♥
Polly Purebred! I loved Underdog as a kid! And I don’t know that you could have found a more perfect costume for Henry. Glad he was in good shape and got to do a little Trick or Treating!

Since I LOVED Underdog when I was little, of course I was ticked pink to see Henry in that beloved costume!
And I LOVED seeing Henry trotting down the sidewalk! I’m pretty sure I could read his mind, and he was thinking, “Never fear, Underdog is here!” Was he heading to Grammie’s to see if she had any treats for him? Henry’s trick is obviously to be the best Underdog ever!
But for someone who loved Underdog so much, I flubbed up his girlfriend’s name. Somehow I came up with Penelope Pureheart.

I did not watch underdog cartoons, I don’t think it came in our cartoon line up, so I didn’t know his girlfriends name :(

Very cute Henry as Underdog. I remember watching the cartoon but didn’t remember his girlfriend’s name. Mercy me!! I’m getting so old. Anyway, I agree just the perfect costume for Henry.
In that last picture, looks like Henry is going to kick some skeleton butt!
Kudos to all those that knew that indeed, Sweet Polly Purebred was UnderDog’s lady friend.
If you didn’t know, it’s obviously not a sign of lack of smarts! It’s a cartoon not a Mensa! LOL
And indeed, Henry knows he gets treats at Grammy’s house. (We were sure to bring our own baggie of treats for others to give to him, though. He is permitted so few foods that we just opted to play it safe.)
