Happy Birthday, Benjamin!
Today Baby Benny turns 11 years old!
I know it sounds a bit cliche, but I can't believe that Benjamin is 11 years old. I remember the day we brought him home like it was yesterday.
He was a non stop bundle of energy that ate EVERYTHING! It's hard to see in his puppy picture, since it is so small, but he is chomping on a stick. In addition to sticks, he was a connoisseur of mulch, shoelaces, rocks, wicker baskets, the leg of the sofa and a wild mushroom that earned him an overnight stay at the emergency vet.
Lucky for us, he stopped eating pretty much everything on that list except for mulch. He is still a sucker for fresh mulch from the garden.
While Benny has always had a wild side, his sweet side is even bigger. He is never far away and will happily sit on your lap and gaze longingly into your eyes. Benny has a way about him that makes you feel loved.
I couldn't imagine how boring the last 11 years would have been without Benny!

Corrine, your mentioning Benny’s penchant for mulch made me think of one of your spring pictures several years ago of bag after bag after bag of mulch you had gotten for around your house. I can just imagine how Benny’s eyes lit up when he first saw that and thought, probably, that it was all his.
Eleven years? WOW That time sure passed fast and the antics that have been shared with us have enriched us so much. Happy, happy Birthday, Benny baby!
