Famished

When I said Luna was suffering from steroid induced hunger pangs I wasn't kidding. The other morning she took a page out of Cupid's book and camped out on her placemat waiting for more food. As you can see from the empty food bowls, they had just finished eating their breakfast!

Awww, poor baby! My Ruby got a steroid shot to help keep her from reacting to her immunizations (did not work, alas). You are not kidding about the hunger! And that was just one shot. Poor Loonie…..
My Toby is going through the same thing right now. I just took a picture of him this week doing the same thing. It’s heartbreaking! He not only lays there with his sad little look, but he starts crying! I can’t take it, so I give him more food. Bad mom huh?
What a sorry state of affairs if all you can do is wait for some kind momma to come along and fill up the empty bowls. Perhaps Luna could take a page from Toby’s book and start crying. We sure do mistreat these guys, don’t we.
poor Luna did she get some extra food?
I just noticed the bowl flung off to the side. What’s that all about, eh Luna.
So, it looks like she is praying to the “fill my bowl” gods. LOL. Or maybe she is just being patient and saying, “I’ll just stay here until next feeding time. If you need me, this is where I will be. Waiting, waiting, waiting…..hey! Hurry up next feeding time!” She is precious with her little growling hunger belly. Sweet thing.
I went through the same thing with Miracle(RIP) when she was on prednisone to stimulate her appetite when her kidneys started to fail. Poor girl was so hungry all the time. She had lost so much weight at that point, we let her eat when she wanted.
Poor Luna. that’s a crappy side effect for a necessary medicine.
Poor Luna! So sad you had to take a shot.
Grannie keeps fresh water and several times a day. I eats in the morning and then steal from Gwens dish upstairs!

Poor little Luna! Sweet girl just wants MORE FOOD! That’s probably how it sounds in her thoughts, too.
Having had many dogs over the years, I will make the observation about pugs that they are the least stoic of any breed or mixture of breeds that I’ve ever known. Which is a challenge to determine how bad any issue is. Every problem to Bennie is always the Absolute Worst Problem Ever!
That being said, as a breed, I think pugs Rock!!!
So, what happens if you just give her more food? I wouldn’t be able to stand it. I’d rather have a fatter, happier pug than a skinnier miserable pug. Or am I too far out in left field?
I agree with you Steve! I can’t stand it either. So, my Toby is a lil’ chubby.

I think I would be giving her more food… cannot have an unhappy and hungry pug
aww my poor luna i couldn’t stand to see you that way i’d give you a few healthy treats.
