Cowboy

Benny picked up this move by watching the cat. Out of the 3 pugs Benny is the only one brave enough to sleep draped across the back of the couch. He frequently rests perched on the back of the couch when someone is in the kitchen. I think he likes it because he has good view of what goes on in the kitchen from that vantage point.

My youngest pug, Bugsy, loves to sit or lay on the sofa back. He really likes it when I’m sitting there cause he can give me kisses on the back of my neck. Tickle, tickle!!! Yeow!!!
My Abby loves to sleep on the back of furniture too!
Benny, you look like you even have your saddle laid over the back of the couch. That kitty is good for something, to show you such a great spot to keep an eye on the goings on in your house!!! But, poor cupid, lost out on the spot for the time being!!! :D
Yes Mamma, I love it here where:
(1) I can see you, but also you can see me!
(2) It is a comfy spot, as everyone can see
(3) Just making sure you are getting my fav foods ready
love ya Benny, handsome guy… too precious for words!
It is easy to see that Benny enjoys the back of the couch. He has a very content look on his sweet face. I only had one pug who ever did that.
Ivy, your Bugsy is a true lover isn’t he? I think that is so sweet.
So cute Benny. Keep an eye on your family from your perch!
Pug Mama ~ So cute ‘that kitty is good for something’ funny stuff!
Pug Hugs to all from Gina & Pip.
Oh Benny, your wrinkles make me smile!
this is a very good spot for Benny to keep a eye on whats going on in the kitchen which is all pugs favorite room One of my first pugs Daphne my heart pug use to sleep on the back of the couch looking out the window waiting for me to come home from work
Everyone, please, prayers and/or good thoughts for my Romeo. He was under my desk while I was on the computer and came out stumbling to me for help, not walking very well. I rushed him to the vet and he is having seizures (they say dogs don’t actually have strokesa like humans, but that is what it appears to be) They started working on him immediately, and now I have to wait until this afternoon, unless they call me. I hope they don’t call me because that is bad news. It is going to be a long day.
Sue VDB I am so sorry to hear that I know what you must be going through I will be saying prayers for you and Romeo sending good thoughts your way I hope he will be home with you soon please let us know how he is doing we are all here for you
Oh NO Sue…I can’t believe this. You and Romeo are in my thoughts and prayers and I will be checking back constantly to hear a good update. Thinking of you and please keep us posted!
Sue, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Romeo!

I think Benny is ever so brave and adventuresome! I’ll bet he’s proud of himself for his daring and superior view of the kitchen!!
Sue ..sending thoughts and prayers to you and Romeo… I know you will keep us posted how things are going.
How terrible to be going thru this
((((hugs to you both)))))
Hang in there Sue VDB. I earlier wrote you but my message seems to have disappeared. If you need to talk, email me. I don’t have advice but I can listen. I can imagine this is a nightmare for you. As soon as you are able, please keep us updated. I have printed off Romeo’s picture and it is in the computer room and I’m looking at him and sending positive feelings through the pic. I’ll be checking back often to see if you’re posted. Stay strong.
Pug hugs

Sue VDB, I’m thinking of you and praying with all my might…The boys and I are heading home, but will check in later tonight hoping to see Romeo is safe in your arms.
BIG HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!!!!! I checked with the vet at 2 pm and was told he was resting comfortably and could come home, or if I was uncomfortable with that he could stay. Guess which I chose?
I had to feed my grandson, Ben, first, but as soon as he was through we were off to the races. When they brought him out my jaw dropped and so did Ben’s. He looked horrible and the vet immediately explained that when I walked in the clinic they gave him a valium. He couldn’t even stand up without falling. He is on Phoenobarbital twice a day for two weeks, and then he goes back for a checkup to evaluate him. Jim doesn’t want to keep him on Phoenoibarbital forever if he doesn’t have to, like my Missy who is on it permanently twice a day for life, and every 4 months has to go in for a Phoenobarbital check.
Even in his loopy state, he was so happy to see me it took two people to hold him so I could put his collar on. Thankfully Ben was with me to hold him on the way home as I didn’t have time this morning to put on his harness and attach him to the seat belt, and didn’t think about it when we left to pick up up.
I wish I could hug each of you in person and let you know how much I appreciate your love, support, prayers and positive thoughts. That means the world to me.
My day is much better now, thank you.
Loopy, staggering hugs from Romeo and many hugs from his mom who may be loopy with happiness.
Sorry, I didn’t explain. When I asked if there was any clue as to what caused Romeo’s seizure, Jim said, like humans, sometimes there is no known cause.
Thanks again everyone.
Sue VDB, okay now we can all breathe a large sigh of relief. I was so worried, as were the others. I can only imagine what you were going through and your fear when you called.
Grannygoogs, break out the whiskey, we have some tall celebrating to do!
I’m not all that familiar with the Catholic way of praying, but is St. Francis of Assi a “pray to” saint? If so, I’d like to thank him for Romeo’s healing.
Our first Cooper had seizures and I’ve read they are rather common in dogs. He was on medicine the rest of his life, although it wasn’t phoenobarbital. He would still have the occasional seizure so don’t freak if that happens. Just check with your vet.
Huckle, St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and believe me I have him on speed dial. Actually all saints can be prayed to.
I am familiar with seizures because Missy had severe seizures until she was put on Phoeno. I didn’t recognize the seizure(s) of Romeo because they were so different from Missy’s, but he needed immediate treatment, received it and hopefully will not have to permanently stay on Phoeno. He just ate a good meal and is ready to go out, but I will help me down the deck stairs so he doesn’t fall, although he seems almost back to normal.
Life is good again.
Sue VDB, just catching up on what happened with Romeo today, and I am so relieved to read that he is back home with you and getting back into his normal routine. I will pray that he stays out of trouble, and that the phenobarbital keeps any further seizures at bay. St. Francis is close to my heart as well. Take care <3
pug mama, thank you.
Sue VDB ~ I am too just catching up on this. Oh my gosh! Tons of prayers are coming your way for you and Romeo!! I will be thinking of you constantly! God Bless. And give lots of extra hugs and kisses to Romeo for me!!!
Gina, thank you, and I have. Romeo usually tolerates only 2-3 kisses and hugs, but tonight he is doing much better with them.
He knows he needs them! God Bless!
I love Bennys position!!!! wanting to learn from the cat!!!! Glad to hear Romeo is better!!!!
I just got home from work and turned on the computer to check if there was any news on Romeo I am so happy he is home with you hope he is back to normal real soon give him a hug from me and a hug to you Sue
