Thanks everyone for keeping me in your prayers. The fires are about the same but today is cloudy, maybe rain tonight and chances of rain all week.

Prayers for you Brenda.

If anyone is in a praying mood, I could use some…lost a friend to cancer yesterday. She was only 42 and had brain, liver and cancer in her spine. She had been having strokes and it was just terrible. She had been in hospice since March 19th. She finally passed away. Thank God she is at rest and no longer in pain. Sorry to lay this on all of you. Thank you all for listening.

Now go hug your pugs!

Pug Hugs from Gina & Pip (Susie went home today.)

Gina, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.  That is very young to lose a friend.  When I say this, I think you will understand…she is in a much better place, and as you said, she is no longer in pain.  The people she left behind are hurting, and I pray that you find peace and healing. 

When my husband died in 2000, I felt a huge sense of relief.  That sounds terrible and I was criticized for it, but after being with him 24/7 suffering as he did, I felt happy for him.  I would much rather he was healthy and still here, but under the circumstances, not so much.

Does Pip miss Susie, or is he happy to see her leave?

I do understand Huckle and thank you for saying that. She was on constant pain meds and so wasn’t really “there”. It’s like she was hanging on for some reason and we didn’t know why. Her eyes were open some of the time and sometimes she would look at you but it wasn’t quite registering. Well, the night before she passed away, one of our other friends went to visit her and her eyes were open. So our friend said a prayer with her and then looked right in her eyes and said to her, “It’s time. You can let go! What are you hanging on for? It’s ok and we all love you. If you see a hand or something, take it!”

We don’t know if that is why she passed away that night or if it was just a coincident but it’s pretty amazing. I do find peace knowing she is no longer in pain.

That is terrible that people criticized you for finding relief in your husband’s passing. The most important thing is that they are no longer in pain.

Gina, sorry to hear about your friend. I know it hurts but knowing they’re in a better place and not in pain helps so much.
Sue, sorry people were so insensitive. We all greive in different ways, in a way that is right for us. It’s not wrong, just different. People just need support and love and let grief takes it’s course.

I think we get to babysit our daughter’s pug and chihuahua this weekend…more bodies in the bed!! Sounds like fun!!

That is so funny about the “more bodies” in your bed this weekend. We just watched our friends ‘weenie’ dog these past two weeks and one night I had my 5 year old daughter, my pug and the weenie dog in bed with me! While my husband snored happily to himself on the couch!

Gina,  I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.  No matter what the circumstances, it is very hard.

Sue,  I felt bad reading that people criticized your very understandable and sensible thoughts after your husband passed away.  I think that probably those people have never had to face such a hard situation as yours.  Years ago I did with my mom, and I felt as you did.

Brenda, I’m also in Texas (but not near the wildfires), but I thought of you tonight while I watched the coverage on tv.  You’re in my prayers.  Be safe.

Dear Gina, Sorry to hear about your friend’s passing-she is now at peace with no more pain. I will keep you and your friends family in prayer as you all go through the grieving process. We all do grieve differently and as a pastor, I don’t know of any “right” way to grieve-it’s very personal. Hope this helps all of you who have suffered a loss-also know there is no time limit on grief either! Another note: 
My husband thankfully is recovering from Brain Surgery he had on Wednesday.  The doctor told me he removed the complete tumor and Bob is in ICU, looking very well with no complications.  He did not require a transfusion.  He is one of the lucky ones. Just to keep everyone posted.  Elizabeth~

Elizabeth, I am so glad Bob is doing well, and looks like a complete recovery.  How are you holding up?  I know it has been tough on you as well, and you need to take good care of yourself.  (((Hugs)))

Sue S. ~ Thank you for saying that. I agree, she is no longer in pain. Her Father passed away suddenly 2 years ago so we believe they are having a wonderful reunion.

Pug Hugs everyone!

Hi Everyone,
I just returned from the hospital.  Bob was up and walking today and seemed much better, looked good, said he felt good, still no pain meds.  He hasn’t even had a head ache.  He is getting a little antsy to come home and see Mr. Cooper.  They are good buddies.  Also he can’t eat very much just yet and this guy loves to eat.  He is average weight but loves food.  He has to eat soft meals for now.  He did choke on a piece of peach, which was sliced up quite small.  The nurse was just across from where he is and didn’t come over so he pressed the button for her and told her he had something stuck in his throat, and she looked at the machine and said his oxygen was 102% and that he didn’t. He said he grabbed his napkin and reached into his throat and pulled it out and showed it to her. 
Since when do you look at a machine to see if there is something stuck in someone’s throat?  That seemed like a common sense call, but that’s just me.  OH well, he will be home soon, hopefully.  I will have to rely on my good common God given common sense.
