Deer Poo’s [or number two’s] - commonly known in South Africa as ‘bok drolle’ - they have ‘bok droll’ spitting competitions to see how far you can spit out the ‘droll’ yeach!!
Another S A Expression we use for Kibbles are ‘dry rats’ as in Dry Rations - Suster, Tai-Tai and Miz Ziller all take a whole mouthful and reture to their pillows in front of the the fire where they eat their ‘dry rats’ in comfort!! Spoilt little b*ggers!!
The picture is similar to the daily one in the kitchen or the veranda [when bowls get knocked over] the veranda floor is slate and there are holes in the joinery where the little b*gger have dug out searching for a lost dry rat!! We tell them to stop as we assure them they wouldn’t like living down-under in Oz

The Kibble Game!!!!!  I play this with my three puggies all the time!  I throw the kibble out there and they scurry around and find every single one.  Funny thing is maybe a week or so later, one pug will be pawing diligently at the base of the couch.  I’ll lift the couch and sure enough, a kibble has been discovered!!! Never underestimate the power of a pug nose!!!

The archive page wasn’t loading for me, but in putting in a search for the tag of “Sol” that narrowed it down pretty well, and then I found those pages pretty easily.  I’ve been making pumpkin things here and there, gonna have to try the pugkin bread one of these days, but where do you buy buckwheat flour?  Not sure I ever recall seeing it?

That was the first thing that came to mind, I used to have a long haired English Angora rabbit and my kitchen floor looked like that a few times.  : )

also re: rabbit turds, thanks Tammy:-) , I am housesitting for my mom, along with her dog and the other little dog that belongs to mom’s friend, and every time I let them out into the fenced back yard today, all I can think of when they go scavenging along the fence line where the grass is longer is that they are pigging out at the “rabbit turd buffet”.  Now that this has dawned on me, they are not going to have free reign in the back yard again, because we certainly do not need any friends living in their poopsies.

GG - got Rescue Remedy ordered on Monday.  I’m crossing my fingers.  I think Sooper, Pooper Cooper’s “just bad to the bone”!  His one redeeming feature seems to be his relationship with Gracie - who he adores.  He has ripped to shreds all six of our patio furniture cushions since last week, completely ruined the carpet (in three rooms)- can’t be put in his crate for misdemeanors because he HOWLS the whole time (even leaving the house doesn’t work, you can hear him howling down the street). Yesterday while I was on the computer he got one of my husband’s shoes (he wasn’t in them), ripped the lining out before I saw him and got them away from him.  While I was taking care of that, he ripped the ‘piddle papers’ to shreds and as I was cleaning THAT up, he grabbed to hard boiled eggs off of the back of the kitchen counter and ate those without even peeling them.  There was more, much more (including his work on the overstuffed chair) but you get the idea.  What really ticks me off is that I had just been outside with him playing football and had walked him around the block.  Every day he seems to get a little (ok - a lot) worse and I am stumped.  Ideas?  That Rescue Remedy can’t get here soon enough.

Huckle is no longer chuckling

Oh my poor ‘non=chuckling Huckle’ - I know the answer is not spanking BUT I have used a rolled up newspaper and whacked on the bum while showing the culprit the chewed item and saying in my sternest voice BAD DOG!!!!! This done repeatedly does work.
How many of his ‘own’ toys does he have? I think he might be suffering from a combination of boredom, just plain naughtiness [perhaps Behaviour School?]
I used to listen to a programme on Radio with a Vet answering questions, she maintained a lot of naughtiness was an “attention getting ploy” - she always suggested more food [in fact Oki and I used to laugh as it seemed that more food was her standard prescription] maybe try that.
Go onto support@veterinarysecretsrevealed.com and ask Dr Andrew Jones - he seems to specialise is Pet Psychiatry and he certainly makes a lot of sense to me at times.
Another - see if there is a Boxer Web Site - perhaps you can get help there.

If the rescue doesn’t work on Cooper - use it yourself and give lots to your shoeless husband!!

Huckle - PS - as an old hippy - there is nothing to beat ‘herb cookies’ - after all it’s a natural herb and rather a ‘stoned’ dog than you going up the wall…. again it works both ways eg: humans too. Years ago in my youth, we used to make them - me legally as I was on it as I was having Chemotherapy and it was prescribed to stop the extreme nausea, didn’t enjoy smoking, so made biscuits. I had a Basset Hound called Hugh and he stole one….. he was stoned for days, just sat around with his eyes more droopy than usual with a big grin on his face. I called my vet, who thought it was a huge joke and he told me he would come to no harm. I have also seen my dogs rushing past a bush [it literally does grow wild up here and I am for ever pulling it out and burning it!!!! much to someone’s disgust!!] and grabbing a leaf and chewing on it.. no side effects

Huckle, I am sorry that your chuckle buckled…Sounds like you need to call the Dog Whisperer or the girl from It’s Me Or the Dog!  I really feel for you but as a less than stellar dog-trainer, I’m not able to offer any advice!  Sorry :-(

Grannygoogs - I don’t suppose you have any of those wonderful brownies, do you.  (Guess that would make you a drug pusher - opps)  a trippin’ Hugh, how funny (as long as it didn’t hurt him).  I might use the brownies on myself instead. 

I did discover today that Cooper2 has tapeworms!  The vet assistant told me there are only two ways he could get them…fleas (he’s on Frontline plus) or wild rabbits.  Guess what are backyard is full of…!  So I got two pills at $10 each.  Good thing I don’t have to give it to the rabbits.  So far today, Cooper’s been very good (at least for him).  The calm before the storm?

He did manage to get the hot dog buns off of the counter but that’s about all - other than the potty issue.

I have left the patio door open so he could come and go (as well as the flies) and I wonder if that is a clue?

He does jump on me (like a swimmer doing laps - the push off) but I never see it until too late.  I can’t even get my knee up to check him.

As soon as I get his passport, Grannygoogs, he’s yours.  I don’t think I’m kidding.

For some reason that noise from Pac Man is going through my head…wacka wacka wacka.

Huckle, are you saying Cooper2 has found the Rabbit Turd Buffet as Abby’s minion’s Tessa and Heidi have this week?  Those little minions, just don’t understand why I won’t let them have their playtime out in the backyard now, as I had been!  So far, nobody is having poop symptoms, or anything suspicious looking, lets hope it stays that way!

Pug Mama - it’s not the rabbit turds that are the cause, it’s the rabbits - eating them (probably the babies!  If you think there’s a chance of a similar outcome for you, I guess you need to be vigilant in examining ‘you-know-what’ (Oh yeach!)

GG - I’m waiting for my ‘bush’ to get through customs…

huckle:-(  Ohhhh, real rabbits.  I guess the rabbits here are a tad smarter, cuz they stay out of the yard when the dogs are out.  But they do leave behind a delightful assortment of exotic “chocolate” chips for every doggy’s pleasure.  *tongue in cheek*  The two little dogs I am dogsitting for, naughty to no end, harass the cats, being a thorn in poor Abby’s side, eating the rabbit’s droppings, whining as if they are 8 wk old puppies just separated from their mommies.  9 more days, 9 more days, 9 more days, and then Abby and I go back to the peace and quiet of our apartment life.

Grannygoogs…1st Class, of course.  I’m starting a ‘collection kitty, er..collection puggy, so all you guys are welcome to fill it up…soon!

Hi Huckle [Chuckles or Grumbles today??] Just a quick note to find out if you are still around or have you committed yourself to the looneybin yet?? I was thinking over the weekend that maybe its time that you showed Sooper Cooper Pooper who IS THE BOSS - used the rolled up newspaper and whack him on the butt - every time he is naughty or destructive! It doesn’t hurt them but a combination of a VERY stern voice saying NO!!! and the noise of the whack should have some impact on him.

The rolled newspaper doesn’t seem to faze him so I’m thinking, maybe I ought to use it on my daughter-in-law who was responsible for this in the first place.

Aside from that silliness, I am getting worried.  It’s 10 a.m. here and there has been no Daily pic from Corrine and you know how punctual she is every weekday about 7 a.m. Perhaps her computer is on the fritz.  Anyone know anything?
