Here is little Luna's Swim Camp clip. She is by far the best swimmer out of the 3 pugs, but she is very nervous in the water. No under water clips of her swimming. If you go under water to get video of her swimming she doesn't know where to swim to!
Benjamin and Luna are very happy that their obligatory, yearly dip in the pool is complete. Now they don't have to worry about having to get in the pool until next year. I'm sure that makes Henry happy because that means more pool time for him.
Here is Benjamin's Swim Camp clip. Note the lack of enthusiasm on his part. He is all about swimming to the step hopping out of the pool and then running through the doggie door and back into the house so he can drip all over the rug. Paybacks
We held a mini swim camp last week and here is a short clip of Henry in action.
Henry really is the only pug that enjoys swim camp. Luna barely tolerates it and Benjamin absolutely hates it. Its a shame because it is such good exercise for the pugs when it it too hot for them to walk.
When we lived in Maryland, we lived in a 3 story house. So, the boys got plenty of practice going up and down steps. When we moved to Florida, our new house is on one level and there is no steps to be found. The boys rarely come across steps anymore in their daily travels.
To keep them fresh, whenever we walk past this one building that has a flight of steps running up the side, I always take them up and down just for fun. The boys do great, but at first Luna didn't know what to do. I don't think she had much step experience as a puppy. But, she has finally learned how to go up and down the steps. Going up was never much of a problem. It has always been the going down part. Luna isn't the quickest, but she gets the job done.
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I woke up with every intention to post something yesterday before our holiday celebration got underway, but somehow I ran out of time.
We definitely have a lot to be thankful for and one of the things that is high on my list is all the wonderful pug lovers I have met through this site. When I started this website, I never imagined that I would meet so many wonderful people.
Last night, as we were digesting all our turkey, we strolled down memory lane, looking at pictures and videos and there were lots of Solsey. Since today is black friday I thought I would share again one of my favorite videos of my one and only black pug.
The video is quite long, but it gets very interesting around the 3:40 mark when Sol gets in on the action and surprises us all with her cheerio catching skills. To me, this video embodies so much of Sol's personality. She was always up for anything and she never let anything get in her way. She could adapt to any situation. Her age, the fact that half of her jaw was removed or anything else never got in her way.
I gave Luna a small bite of cucumber and the video below shows what she thought of that. Also, my favorite part is how Ben swoops in at the end and eats the cucumber and then gives me a look that says, "What? That was a perfectly good piece of cucumber." I guess it falls under the 5 second rule for the floor, but it was in Luna's mouth for more than 5 seconds.
I took Jennifer's fun idea to make a stop motion video, combined it with Heather's catchy title and voilá! Here is another look at Luna's adventures in rolling.
The other night the pugs were restless so I gave them a Kong. I shot a little video of Luna working to get the peanut butter out of her Kong. It's a wonder she doesn't tire out her little tongue.
Sometimes when the pugs get a little fiesty and are constantly looking for a treat, I have a little fun with them and just toss handfuls of kibble on the floor. Watching them scrounge around to gather all the kibble makes me laugh.
