Meet Jade. Jade came over on Sunday to play with the pugs and to watch a bit of the Puppy Bowl. She was also kind enough to bring her humans Jennifer and Corey. And it was a good thing she did because Jennifer brought pumpkin bread. Yummy, yummy pumpkin bread.
The pugs played a bit, but like any good Puppy Bowl party there was lots of snacking, which I think was the pugs' favorite part. Turns out that Jade loves pumpkin bread too!
Jade has a super sweet, outgoing personality and reminds me of Sol in a lot of ways. I like to think that Sol, in her younger days, was a lot like Jade.
Thanks for hanging out with us on Sunday, Jennifer, Corey and Jade.

We kicked off Henry's birthday with a trip to the beach, but this wasn't any ordinary trip to the beach. The pugs were going to the beach to meet longtime blog reader Jennifer and her Mom, Mary. It was so great meeting them both and the pugs simply loved them. Not only were they so very nice, they also had great petting hands and they brought a little Easter basket for the pugs. Here is a shot of Luna with Jennifer with Luna doing her very own Easter Bunny impersonation.

Henry was definitely on cloud nine as he got to take about a 20 minute car ride to the beach, then a short walk to the actual beach and then there was water, sand, dogs, people and lots of petting. An ideal day for him.
In addition to meeting Jennifer & Mary the pugs also met a little turtle that was hanging out on the beach.

And look at little Miss Luna. It looks like she is enjoying her brother's birthday fun too.

We spent a few hours on the beach and by the time we got back to the truck, the pugs were wiped out. We got them buckled into the car, gave them a little treat from their Easter basket and before we knew it the car was filled with a chorus of pug snoring.
When we got back home, we brushed all the sand that the pugs decided to bring home with them out of their coats and then the left the pugs to get a little nap. Later that night, it was ice cream, chewing and more snoring. I think their little beach adventure tuckered them out!
A big thank you to Jennifer & Mary for meeting us and snapping so many pictures. Thanks to them I could take a day off from being behind the camera

On Saturday we went to Central Florida Pug Rescue’s Sock Hop and we had a blast! First, let me just say, in our mad dash to get out of the house and get the truck setup to ensure the pugs’ maximum comfort on the trip, I forgot to bring the camera! Yup, how silly am I?
So, our picture with Elvis is the only snapshot we brought home from the event. That is also our first official photograph with Elvis. The pugs have been photographed with Santa and even the Easter Bunny, but this was their first time meeting the King.
There were lots of vendors at the event, many of which had free treat samples. This went over quite with the gang, but especially Benny. We also got to chat with Ann from Central Florida Pug Rescue. Ann made the pugs a very special treat, that they had a chance to gobble up a little bit of on Saturday night and some more on Sunday. More to come about the pugs’ special treat from Ann on Wednesday.
We also had a chance to talk with Marcia and her friends from Compassionate Pug Rescue. Compassionate Pug Rescue is where we adopted Luna from so it was great to see Marcia again. We had not seen her since the day we took little Luna home over 2 years ago.
Overall, it was an awesome day that really tired the pugs out. The pugs slept the whole ride home. They had a great time and so did we!

Sunday was the pug meetup at Dog Wood park and it was absolutely fabulous! The event was from 2pm-4pm and during that time the boys must have met 30 or more puggies (unfortunately, all the pugs weren’t there at the same time, but they trickled in and out during the two hour event). The boys had a blast and even though it was pretty hot and humid, there was a small pond to cool off the pugs. This guy really knew how to keep cool.
After the boys had some fun splashing in the pond, we took a walk on some of the fenced in trails. Benjamin and Henry really love running back and forth on the trails. Here is an action shot of the boys, Benjamin is in the lead (because Henry let’s him think he is faster)
