3 Pug Salute
Happy Memorial Day from the pugs!
The pugs were happy to sit for a few pictures then I think they heard someone shout that the burgers were ready!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

For St. Patrick's Day, I decided to post one of my favorite St. Patty's photos from 2009. The original post explains that Luna is missing because she posed for this photo on the same day and exceeded the maximum number work hours allowed for a pug as per the Cute Union of which she is a card carrying member. Plus, we only had 3 bandanas.
I think the pugs' preferred way of celebrating today would be to eat something green. So, I am going to see if I can round them up any interesting green treats.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We just found out about National Popcorn Day. From the brief research we have done, many say the exact date of National Popcorn Day is unknown, although many celebrate it on Jan 19th.
If we missed the official day or not, the pugs were not about to let National Popcorn Day go by uncelebrated. They LOVE popcorn so in honor of the holiday we made a bag of popcorn last night.
They would have ate the whole bag if we let them, but they were forced to share with their humans.
Does your pug like popcorn?

After the long Thanksgiving weekend, the boys took a nice rest on the couch. Because the holidays can be so exhausting for a pug. You know, looking cut all the time isn't easy.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I woke up with every intention to post something yesterday before our holiday celebration got underway, but somehow I ran out of time.
We definitely have a lot to be thankful for and one of the things that is high on my list is all the wonderful pug lovers I have met through this site. When I started this website, I never imagined that I would meet so many wonderful people.
Last night, as we were digesting all our turkey, we strolled down memory lane, looking at pictures and videos and there were lots of Solsey. Since today is black friday I thought I would share again one of my favorite videos of my one and only black pug.
The video is quite long, but it gets very interesting around the 3:40 mark when Sol gets in on the action and surprises us all with her cheerio catching skills. To me, this video embodies so much of Sol's personality. She was always up for anything and she never let anything get in her way. She could adapt to any situation. Her age, the fact that half of her jaw was removed or anything else never got in her way.

We had a very relaxing Labor Day weekend. It was still too hot for the pugs to do too much during the day, but I was very happy that things cooled off enough to take the pugs on nice walks in the evenings. On Saturday, we went to one of our favorite parks for a walk around the lake. We haven't been able to go for a walk at the park since early June so the pugs were super excited to get back to one of their favorite walking spots.
On Sunday and Monday night we were back out and about on our normal neighborhood walks and the pugs got to see some of their friends that they haven't seen in months.
I hope everyone in the path of Earl fared OK over the weekend.

We had a very nice, but low key Fourth of July weekend. Benny is still on the mend and we spent a lot of time with the pugs just relaxing around the house.
Benjamin had some expected inflammation from his surgery. He sounded like a very congested pug. As the weekend went on, the inflammation went down, which meant Benny's mood and energy level went up. And even though he was feeling a bit better he really wasn't well enough to do anything. He picked himself out a bone that we had to take away because bones don't fall under the soft food category. He scratched on the door to go outside, but was disappointed when we didn't take him for much of a walk. By Monday night Benny was fed up with us following doctor's orders and he was a cranky mess, pacing around the house, desperately trying to find something to do. So we pulled out one of our Solsey tricks and took the pugs for a car ride. This was exciting to Benny, but did not get him bouncing off the walls so it worked well.
We are still supposed to keep Benny quiet for the next few days, but at this point Benny is as well rested as a pug can get. His batteries are fully charged. Depending on how he does today, I may try and take him on a short walk to the corner and back to see how he does. I think that would perk Benny up a bit. I don't think he can handle being cooped up on the house much longer. After all, he has grass to smell and trees to mark.

Getting the pathology results on Friday helped us enjoy the holiday weekend. Benny started feeling better and was almost back to himself and after just one day of Luna's new eye drop, we started to see an improvement in her eye. Both of those things were very relieving and helped make for a relaxing weekend.
Good news, good friends, family and fun. Those were the ingredients of our much needed and much enjoyed holiday weekend.

As you read this, G-Ma & G-Pa are making the drive from Maryland to Florida. The pugs love it when G-Ma & G-Pa come to visit because their level of spoiledness jumps to a whole new level. G-Ma is always quick to dole out the treats and G-Pa has a nice big truck that the pugs love to ride in.
With all the action of next week, posting is going to be pretty light and fluffy around here. I'm going to mainly be posting pictures of the pugs and will most likely be pretty light on stories. Things will get back to normal the week after Christmas.
From all of us here in the OBP household, I hope everyone out there has a very happy and safe holiday season!
