The boys have much practice posing for photos and are quite used to the sitting still and knowing the level of expectation when it comes to photo opportunities. Luna, on the other hand is a wiggle worm and tends to ruin many a photogenic moment. In this rare case seen here, Benjamin is the one that makes the picture a mess. I guess he was too bored waiting for everyone else to settle and couldn't contain his yawn. Oh my! Handsome Benjamin ruined the shot! For a change, this time it wasn't Luna who created the blur.

Here is Henry perched upon a large rock that we have in our front yard. He is aptly attired in his royalty purple harness to look even more kingly.
Anxious to read to your captions on this royal spectacle.

Do you remember Mimo? In 2007 we planted a Mimosa seed and were pleased as punch when it actually sprouted. A little over four years later, Mimo provides wonderful shade in the backyard. It is perfect for the pugs.
Here are a few shots of Mimo over the years: April 2007, June 2008 and April 2009.

Since the water was warm, Henry was having fun running in and out of the ocean. He would run into the water about chest deep, splash around a bit and hop back to shore at full steam.
Since it was a nice day out there were lots of boats passing. Of course the boats left a wake. Henry being Henry plows right through the waves washing ashore. I was lucky enough to manage to get a picture of Henry jumping through one of the tiny waves. Tiny to us, but pretty big to a pug I would imagine.

Good news! Our beach problem was solved! Despite, Saturday being a pretty hot day, things cooled off in the evening and we made a mad dash to the beach.
It was quite breezy out, but that only helped cool the pugs even more. Plus, the water temp must have been around 69° or 70° so the pugs had fun splashing around in the ocean. Heck, even I went in up to my knees.
I took a ton of pictures, so I think this week's theme is going to be scenes from the beach. For those still battling cold weather or heaven forbid snow, if you can't escape to a warm sandy destination we'll bring the warm weather and beach to you.

As odd as this may sound, considering that is only April, I'm hoping that we are able to squeeze in one more beach day with the pugs this spring. We tried to take the pugs to the beach last weekend, but it was just too hot. I'm sure we can sneak in an evening trip to the beach, but I would like to be able to get in one more day of fun where we don't have to worry about the puggers overheating. We'll have to wait and see if mother nature cooperates.
I tell ya, if you have to have problems, these are the types of problems to have.

This position certainly does not look comfortable, but the boys sit like this all the time.
I have never seen Luna sit like this. I think it is because she is too little. Her little neck isn't long enough to reach the arm of the chair.

Boys!
Have a great weekend everyone!

The OBP family is currently in a state of transition. I'm not sure if everyone realized that even though we live in Florida, the company I worked for was based in Maryland (from which we hail). Well, in February, this company was sold and I, along with other co-workers, found myself without a job.
Fortunately, I was lucky enough to find a job in a few short weeks. However, while my new place offers a relaxed atmosphere, I am not able to work from home. I had been working from home for about 8 ½ years (since the boys were pups). So, they are used to having me around. And I was used to having them around. The pugs would snore at my feet, keep me company at lunch time and warn me if the door bell was about to ring. They were the best office mates anyone could ever ask for.
So sadly, this had to all change. It is actually bittersweet, though. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I am ever so thankful to have a job at all. In this economy, I am truly appreciative to be able to have landed something so quickly and not that far from home. I just miss the puggers (and Cupid, too, of course).
But while I won't be home to spend time with the pugs, the pugs will have plenty of company. Grammy will be spending lots of time with the pugs and we have hired an awesome dog sitter that the pugs adore. It will be a change for sure, but I know the pugs will be just fine. In fact, they are handling it better than I am.
One final note, try not to worry if I am not exactly "on time" with future postings. While I am not planning on changing anything about the blog, it might take me a little time to adjust to my new schedule.

On Sunday, exactly one week after Benny, Henry turned 9 years old. Just like with Ben, it is hard to believe that Hank is 9 years old.
It was a gorgeous day so Henry started his birthday catching some rays in the yard. We needed to run a few errands, so we decided to bring the pugs with us. There is nothing Henry loves more than a car ride.
After we finished our errands, we stopped at a place that has a nice shady trail and took the pugs for a walk.
While on our walk, Henry spotted what he wants for his birthday.
Boys and their toys!
As always a birthday wouldn't be complete without a trip down memory lane. Here are a few of my favorite Henry moments shared on the blog.
