I have a question for all you pug lovers out there. When did your pugs start to go gray? Little Luna is about 4 years old, but as you can see her face is already very gray. The boys, on the other hand, are 5 years old and have a lot less gray. However, I did notice little bits of gray creeping in on their chins when they were about 2 years old. Right now, the are primarily gray on their chins with a little bit of gray on their face.
I just entered a picture of Benjamin & Henry into PetSource.com’s Halloween Costume Contest. The entry that gets the most votes gets a $1,000 donation to the animal charity of their choice. We would love to win and send $1,000 to Compassionate Pug Rescue. They nursed little Luna back to health and they have have recently helped so many pugs that were in need of costly medical attention. So if you can, please drop by and cast a vote for Benjamin & Henry in Luna’s honor! You can vote one time per day.
For some reason, I can’t link directly to our entry. But right now it is on the front page if you sort by newest.
This weekend we finally got around to getting out the Halloween decorations and building our annual scarecrow. Last year, we built an Oriole fan that Henry took quite a liking to. This year we built a Redskin fan, shortly after we watched their pathetic loss to the Packers on Sunday. I think the only thing missing is a little tear in his eye.
We also had a little bit of fun and dressed up our Buddha statue. Buddha stands guard at our front door and his official job is to welcome guests. We dress him up every Halloween. Last year he was a pirate, but I think this year’s costume is much better.
For this week’s Caption This we are going back to May 2004. We were still living in MD then and we attended a Pug Festival that was held at a local outdoor hockey rink (no ice, the players wore roller blades). This was one of the best pug events that I have ever been to because it was great to be able to let the pugs off leash and not have to continually do the leash dance each time you meet a new pug or pug lover.
Being a hockey rink there were of course hockey goals there and I just could not resist setting Benjamin & Henry up as goal tenders. This is one of my favorite pictures of the boys. Not because it is such a fantastic photo, but because it just shows that the boys are good sports and put up with all the silly things I ask them to do.
There is a lot going on in this week’s Caption This. Henry is diving into the pool to rescue the lobster and Little Luna is getting all worked up because her brother is such a daredevil and is diving into a huge puddle.
For this week’s Caption This we are going way back. Back to when Benjamin & Henry was just pups! In this shot, the boys are just about 1 year old and we are visiting Grammy in Florida. We still lived in MD at the time and were just down in FL enjoying the sunny weather. Since we were just visiting, and the boys were full of puppy antics, they did not have full run of the house. However, they still tried to keep tabs on every move we made.
As always, I am looking forward to reading your captions in the comments!
Here we have Henry taking a seat at an outdoor amphitheater near our house. He pretty much picked out the best seat and claimed it for himself. Can’t wait to read your captions in the comments!
Here we have Henry lounging on the raft and soaking up the sun. He has had a lot of fun swimming this summer and it has been almost impossible to keep him out of the pool. As always, I can’t wait to read your captions. You can leave them in the comments.
I have been having a lot of fun learning how to make videos, so I thought I would try my hand at a little video montage of the boys swimming with some pictures of Luna thrown in there. Unfortunately, Luna’s swimming videos from this weekend didn’t turn out too good. I think she sabotaged them on purpose once she heard I was making a montage. She wants her own video and she doesn’t want to share screen time with the boys! She is a pretty woman after all! I hope you enjoy!
