Whenever I get the pugs a bone or something to chew I always buy three of whatever it is. That way each pug has their own bone. I could probably get away with only getting one though. When I first give each of the pugs their bone, they all run off to chew. After a few minutes of chewing, the amount of time varies depending on the type of bone I give them, Benjamin, Henry & Luna all become interested in one bone and take turns chewing the same bone. One of them will chew for a bit, then go to get a drink of water and then one of the other pugs will take their turn. This process repeats usually until it is time for bed. Benjamin & Henry have been doing this since they were pups. Now it takes a bit longer to get their turn since little Luna came along. But it can’t bother them too much because I always maintain a one bone per pug ratio. They just choose not to chew it. Silly pugs!
Whenever I am in the kitchen, the pugs keep a very close eye on me. After all, the kitchen is where we like to keep that chilly thing with doors that seems to have a never ending supply of turkey.
It just so happened that on this night the pugs aligned and they watched over my every move in formation. What is amusing, though, is they are in reverse order. Usually, Henry is the one playing it cool laying on the pillow and Benny is leading the charge up front.
Here is a little video from this weekend’s swimming fun. Henry just loves to pull anything out of the pool and he has gotten quite brave and now leaps into the water without hesitation. A few things to note in the video. Notice when Henry jumps into the pool how Benjamin and Luna bark at him. You can see Luna watching him very closely from land. Also, I love how little Luna blocks Henry from getting out of the pool on the first try. That’s what he gets for showing off!
If it wasn’t for the continuous shooting mode on my camera getting group shots of the pugs would be a lot harder. When we take pictures of Benjamin, Henry & Luna posed in front of things, like the new flower pots, as soon as they are sorta in place I just start shooting and I fire off as many shots as possible before someone moves too far out of place. This means I end up with tons of photos. I think I had around 85 pictures for the flower pot shoot. Most of these pictures aren’t the greatest because one of the pugs is looking away or one of them has their eyes closed or someone, Luna, has simply walked away. But it always amuses me when I flip through iPhoto quickly. It is like a little flip book of the pugs posing.
I wanted to share, so I created a little video. Enjoy.
p.s. - Sorry for no photo to go along with yesterday’s raffle post. I will do my best to make it up to you
This weekend was one of those times when I need a few more days off to rest up from all the work from the weekend. We were up on the early side every day of this long, holiday weekend and it seems like we didn’t sit down until it was time to go to bed.
Our main project this weekend was sprucing up the yard. Our first goal was to do something with the small area between the pool and the air conditioner outside and the picture above is what we came up with. Before, it was just an area where the grass struggled to grow. So we laid down the stepping stones and added some plants that help to block the view of the air condition from the lanai. All in all it turned out very well even it if did take all afternoon on Friday.
On Saturday, we put the finishing touches on some pots we were painting for the yard. We ran errands in between coats while we were waiting for the paint to dry.
On Sunday, we planted flowers into the pots that we painted. We have them set throughout the garden and after we planted the flowers we had to have the pugs pose with them, of course.
We also got a pot to put by the front door to keep Buddha company.
Much to the neighbors amusement we have a little concrete fire hydrant in the front yard for the pugs and all the small dogs in the neighborhood to use. We gave it a good power washing and painted it to match the pots.
I have been on a quest to get a good video of the pugs playing to share with you and until now, I haven’t really been able to capture anything good. Most of the times when the pugs are playing I don’t have the Flip handy and by the time I go get it I end up with 3 pugs just staring up at me.
But, the other night I was able to get a little video of the pugs playing around the pool. Benjamin & Henry love to chase each other around the pool. Luna, as you will notice in the video, isn’t too fond of circling the pool. Since she doesn’t see too well, she tends to hang back while the boys are chasing each other near the gigantic puddle in the yard. You will see her in the video a bit, and I would like to point out, that she is running no where near as fast as she can. She takes it easy on the boys
My favorite part of the video comes at about 1:32 when Benny turns into a mad man and circles the bench.
Hopefully, there will be more playing videos to come. I will try to get one of little Luna outrunning her big brothers.
