We went out to dinner the other night and I wanted to save some room for dessert so I brought home a piece of my steak for the pugs. The pugs rarely ever get any type of red meat so they got very excited when the smelled the steak.
Luna had a hard time “leaving it” while I took the picture. She was ready to pounce and claim that steak all for herself!
Henry is not much of a beggar, but he has developed a new habit where he wants to lick the plates when we are done eating. He sits quietly while we are eating and then as soon as we finish he sits up and whines for the plates. This all started because we let him lick a tiny bit of our spaghetti plate once. ONCE! And suddenly this has become a habit. Here is trying to con us into giving him the leftover chicken.
Darci and Abbey the pug wrote in wondering about the eating habits of other pugs. It seems Abbey will eat just about anything and Darci was wondering if all pugs were that way.
Well, I can certainly say that Henry will eat ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING! I have yet to come across anything that he will turn down.
Benjamin, has turned down a few things, but for the most part he eats everything as well. He won’t eat lettuce or cucumbers and he isn’t real fond of spinach. However, if it is high in carbs he will devour it (pumpkin bread!).
Luna, on the other hand, has quite a discerning palette. Just the other day she turned down a graham cracker and I must add this tickled the boys pink. She doesn’t particularly care for Cheez-Its either and she never eats her broccoli.
What about you? Does your pug eat everything? Or does he turn some food items down? Tell us about in the comments and vote in the poll.
This is a classic Baby Benny photo. Benjamin always pulls up a chair at the kitchen table whenever we are eating so that he can get a good look at the meal. And if you turn you head long enough he will take a little taste test.
As always, I’m looking forward to seeing your captions in the comments!
Today is a special day here in the OBP household. We will be having visitors from far & wide in honor of Mother’s Day! G’ma will be coming from Maryland and Aunt Cayce & Uncle Mike are arriving from Arizona! It will be a nice fun weekend packed with special guests! It has been a few months since we have seen them all so the pugs are giving their tails a rest for now because they know that their tails will go into wag overdrive from all the excitement. To give our family a warm reception, the pugs thought it would be sweet to put a message on the treat jar. We think they had an ulterior motive, though: when the visitors see the treat jar with the message, they will notice the treats and of course think to give the caring & thoughtful message leaving doggies a nice piece of kibble for their kindness. Those pugs are always thinking!
