What do you do with a pug that has strict orders to take it easy, but is just itching to go for a walk? You take him for a ride in the Solsey mobile. A stroller that Solsey hated by the way. She much preferred to use her pouch.
The pugs also have something very special to look forward to this weekend. G-Ma is coming for a visit!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I am very happy to report that Benny's tail was back in its regularly curled position yesterday. After a great night's sleep and a very restful day, Benny was feeling much better. He still has some soreness, but overall he is doing much better. Now, the tricky part is keeping him still until Sunday. The vet's orders was to restrict his activity until next week. That means no walks, no running, no jumping and not too much milling around the house. The better he feels, the harder it is to keep him quiet. But, I much rather have the problem of trying to keep him still than to see his little tail uncurled.

Benny Update: Sorry for the delay in getting a Benny update posted. We took Benny in to see our normal vet today and get another check on his shoulder. The good news is that everything looks good. Our regular vet had a look at Benny's x-rays and said his bones look strong and joints look great. His shoulder popping out of place was more than likely just a fluke.
Other than his trip to the vet, Benny mainly rested. While his shoulder is back in place, he is still very sore. He has a little bit of limp, but mainly he is just tired and groggy. The hardest part for me is seeing his tail uncurled. It just breaks my heart.
For the next 5 days we need to restrict his activity. Which, so far, hasn't been that hard. He has been happy resting on his pile of pillows. Hopefully, tomorrow he will be a bit less sore.
Thanks for all your support! We appreciate all your kind wishes for Benny!
Last night on our walk, Benny dislocated his shoulder. How he did it we are not exactly sure. He was walking out of the grass to the sidewalk and the next thing we know his arm is at a 90 degree angle to his body. He was howling in pain and we got him to the emergency vet as quickly as possible.
When we arrived at the emergency vet, he got a rush of adrenaline and managed to pop his shoulder back in place. This made things better, but he was still pretty uncomfortable. He was pretty restless in the evening as well.
I will keep you updated as best I can.

Sunday mornings are filled with the newspaper, big cups of tea, scrabble games and snoring pugs.

The ballpark was full of dogs and fans last friday night. All the dogs were super friendly and the pugs wanted to meet them all. So needless to say there was reaching across the aisles.
Have a great weekend!

The boys have much practice posing for photos and are quite used to the sitting still and knowing the level of expectation when it comes to photo opportunities. Luna, on the other hand is a wiggle worm and tends to ruin many a photogenic moment. In this rare case seen here, Benjamin is the one that makes the picture a mess. I guess he was too bored waiting for everyone else to settle and couldn't contain his yawn. Oh my! Handsome Benjamin ruined the shot! For a change, this time it wasn't Luna who created the blur.

Well, it seems that Benjamin has become enamored with Auntie M, his new caretaker. I didn't see it coming, but my baby Benny has fallen for a new woman. And it's the "other" woman no less! I was eating lunch at my desk texting back and forth with Auntie M as she was sharing the events that were transpiring at home with the kids. Suddenly a text message popped up and it read that she was reporting that one of my boys has a crush on her.
Immediately I believe it to be Henry because as long as you have hands for petting, which Auntie M most definitely does, then Henry will be your best friend. But then I thought about it a bit more and while Henry likes his petting, he's not really a "lover" boy. But Benny, the lover boy, is more typically shy around new people. So I didn't think it would be Ben either. I was stumped and curious.
The follow up message read that Benny was indeed the one that simply adores her. And I am not sure why I was surprised. Auntie M is definitely Benny's "type". I guess it was just the realization of the first crush your son has when it is no longer you. It was that odd but silly feeling. As we continued texting, she explained how he just follows her around looking at her with his brown eyes gazing up at her. And that is the classic Benjamin falling in love insignia. Yup, that is Benny.
Then she shot me the photo seen here. (When Ben brings you his puffy it's like there is no turning back. He's all yours.) And that is when I know that I have officially lost my baby to another woman! Fortunately, Benjamin still has plenty of love for me when I get home from work. Benny is so full of love that there is always plenty of Benny love to go around. That's my boy!

Do you remember Mimo? In 2007 we planted a Mimosa seed and were pleased as punch when it actually sprouted. A little over four years later, Mimo provides wonderful shade in the backyard. It is perfect for the pugs.
Here are a few shots of Mimo over the years: April 2007, June 2008 and April 2009.

Since the pugs get a wet and sandy mess at the beach, they do a lot of shaking while they are running around playing. I caught of few shots of Benjamin shaking off some water and sand. I love to see how the wrinkles on the back of Benny's neck fly while he is shaking. He really gets into it.
