Sunday was the pug meetup at Dog Wood park and it was absolutely fabulous! The event was from 2pm-4pm and during that time the boys must have met 30 or more puggies (unfortunately, all the pugs weren’t there at the same time, but they trickled in and out during the two hour event). The boys had a blast and even though it was pretty hot and humid, there was a small pond to cool off the pugs. This guy really knew how to keep cool.
After the boys had some fun splashing in the pond, we took a walk on some of the fenced in trails. Benjamin and Henry really love running back and forth on the trails. Here is an action shot of the boys, Benjamin is in the lead (because Henry let’s him think he is faster)

Yesterday was a fun day. We went to the doggie beach and the boys did a great job swimming even though the water was a little rough. After we got home from the beach, I made them a special turkey burger on the grill in honor of Benny’s birthday. They loved it! Since they liked it so much I think I will make them more turkey burgers next Sunday for Henry’s birthday.

This weekend we took a trip to Dog Wood park in Jacksonville. It is a bit far from the house, but this 25 acre fenced dog park complete with lakes, trails, tunnels and agility equipment is definitely worth the drive!
Here are some pictures from our time at the park.

Henry comes running back after checking out the big tire.
The boys stop to pose for a picture while walking on the fenced trail.

Benjamin took it upon himself today to do a little spring cleaning on his toy box. He started on the top shelf pulling down most of the larger plush toys, but then decided that he needed a more paws-on approach and jumped into the upper basket. He diligently worked for a few more minutes sending toys flying out of the basket before he realized that this was a much bigger job than he originally thought and that his time would be much better spent napping!

To help beat some of the winter blues we have been having lately we decided to go to the Lake to walk the trails and get some fresh air. As you can see Henry was very excited to be getting out for some much needed exercise.
Much of the lake was frozen, but I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the trails. I thought they were going to be extremely muddy, but all things considered they were in great shape.
The boys had a great time trotting down the trail and chasing each other through the leaves and up and down the hills off of the main trail.
They ran so much that on the way back even Benny, who is usually so hard to tire out, decided to take a break and relax on the bench.
It was a great day and for the boys most great days end with them getting muddy and dirty. So next up for today is baths and brushing!

It has been very chilly here lately and we are in the midst of a snow storm. The heavy snow is yet to come, so we decided to head out and play while there was just a dusting on the ground.
The boys both had their coats on and were running around like mad stopping to gobble up snow along the way. They kept trying to shake off the cold and any snow that may have gotten on their coats. Luckily, I was able to snap a picture of Benjamin as he was giving himself a good shake!
If the boys are up to it, we may try to venture out later after there has been some accumulation. If we do, I will be sure to post some more pics.

I was organizing my digital photos in a new software program last night and I came across this photo.
This is one my favorite photos of the boys. It was taken at the lake when they were just 7 months old.

The year is quickly drawing to a close and it is time to start thinking about our 2005 New Year’s resolutions. Benjamin & Henry are already busy working on their lists. First up is Benjamin’s list:
- I will stop eating cat litter from my sister’s litter box. I will also not chase my sister, Cupid the cat, so that she does not have to get fussy and hiss at me to make me stop.
- I will learn to sleep through the night and I will not wake mommy up at 3:30 AM so that she can feed me breakfast.
- I will not continuously jump in the air when mommy is fixing my dinner. I will be a good boy and patiently wait for her to get everything ready.
And now for Henry’s list:
- In the morning, I will go potty right away for mommy. I will not make her bribe me before I decide to do my business.
- I will watch my waistline so that I can continue to be a healthy boy and not have any problems with my hips.
- I will not bark at my reflection in the window at night. Mommy has explained to me that it is just me. This year I will believe her.
- On sunny days, I will not lay down in the middle of my walk to sun myself.
Now let’s see how many of these resolutions the boys are able to keep Here’s to a great 2005!

After his walk this morning, Benjamin settled down for a nice nap on the couch. He still has his hoodie on from his walk so he is toasty warm.

It was a chilly 31 degrees when we headed out for our morning walk which meant it was time to break out the boys’ winter jackets. Ben’s favorite is his red hooded sweatshirt and Henry loves his leather jacket.
Ben has a really short and thin coat of fur so he gets cold really easily. Henry, on the other hand, has a very thick coat and he handles the cold much better. But in the morning, it is hard to get Henry out from under the covers, so he likes to wear his jacket because there is nothing worse than getting out of a warm bed to go outside to brave the cold weather. Trust me, I know!
