Transition in Progress

Henry, Luna and Benjamin

The OBP family is currently in a state of transition. I'm not sure if everyone realized that even though we live in Florida, the company I worked for was based in Maryland (from which we hail). Well, in February, this company was sold and I, along with other co-workers, found myself without a job.

Fortunately, I was lucky enough to find a job in a few short weeks. However, while my new place offers a relaxed atmosphere, I am not able to work from home. I had been working from home for about 8 ½ years (since the boys were pups). So, they are used to having me around. And I was used to having them around. The pugs would snore at my feet, keep me company at lunch time and warn me if the door bell was about to ring. They were the best office mates anyone could ever ask for.

So sadly, this had to all change. It is actually bittersweet, though. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I am ever so thankful to have a job at all. In this economy, I am truly appreciative to be able to have landed something so quickly and not that far from home. I just miss the puggers (and Cupid, too, of course).

But while I won't be home to spend time with the pugs, the pugs will have plenty of company. Grammy will be spending lots of time with the pugs and we have hired an awesome dog sitter that the pugs adore. It will be a change for sure, but I know the pugs will be just fine. In fact, they are handling it better than I am.

One final note, try not to worry if I am not exactly "on time" with future postings. While I am not planning on changing anything about the blog, it might take me a little time to adjust to my new schedule.

Congrats on your new job Corinne, I wish you all the very best.
Going “out” into the work force will be an adjustment for all of your family, for sure. I hope the adjustment is going well.
Sort of like going back to work after maternity leave, and it is difficult to leave the “babies”.
We are here for you!!

Congratulations on finding another job quickly.  Even though the pugs will have Grammy and a sitter, I’m sure they will miss their comfortable routine, as will you.

On the bright side, think of the welcome home you receive.

Best wishes to all of you.

Wow Corrine, this is quite an adjustment for all!  I’m sure it is going to be tough, but I know you will all settle into your new routine soon.  The welcome home’s will be the best part of the day!!!  Best of luck with the transition…we will be thinking of you all!

Congrats on finding a new job so fast Corrine I know it will be a big adjustment for all of you but I am sure it will all work out and I am with everyone else just think of the warm welcome you will get when you get home four little happy faces to greet you at the door
when I get home from work I have nine happy faces to greet me and let me know just how much they missed me

Awwwwww, they must miss you something fierce lady!!!!

At least they have a doggy sitter that comes in to break up some of the day for them.  Lucky guys:)

And congrats on finding a job that quick, over here in CA certain people I know have been looking for ages with no luck at all.

Corrine, big congratulations on finding your new job!!!  That is NOT easy in today’s environment.  You did good!  I wish you good luck in the job!

And little by little you and your gang will adjust to your working outside the home!  I hope you enjoy the atmosphere and your co-workers, which will help for you.  And leave it to you to get a great dog sitter for your precious puggies!  Great idea!

I liked Pat’s analogy about returning to work after maternity leave : )

What I, and the Pugs, want to know is…why does Luna not have any pillows or blankets under her sweet body.  Couldn’t just one brother offer her a sliver of one?

Oh dear, I feel the worst for you.  Change is hard but the Pugs will adjust, especially with top notch caretakers like Gma and the Pug sitter. It’s not that they won’t miss you and you them, but I hope you have some flexibility with your scheduling so you don’t feel too tied down and unavailable for them. The quality of love for them will always be there.

You know, you might try something like the Flat Puglet Project (no, not squishing your crew for mailing) and send us each a Pug for a week before we send them on to the next OBPer!  Works for me!

Huckle,

Why the sadness with the Swamp Pugs and what happened to Cooper, he’s not listed as being his lil’ pooper self…I’m thinking the two are related :-(

Congrats on finding a new job Corrine, the pugs sound like they will be well cared for, and I am sure Cupid will keep them in line.  Hiring a dog sitter/walker to make sure they get some added attention during the day is truly wonderful.  Have you checked into doggy daycare?  They have tons of those around here in Wisconsin, seems silly but I know friends who swear by it!

I am not always (if ever) timely on getting to read the blog, so I will be grateful for whatever you choose to share, even if you need to skip a day to keep your head screwed on straight smile

p.s. Miss Loonie looks like she needs a pillow pile too!

Congrats Corrine! Change is hard but having Gma and a sitter for the pugs might make it a bit easier. I like Huckles idea of sending the pugs to us obper’s to love for a bit.smile

Huckle ~ share please. How can we help?

Oh no, I didn’t mean worry anyone. I’m so sorry. Between my new teeth (when I sneeze, I shoot them across the room) and low-grade depression I think the Pugs picked it up and got sad right along with me.  They’ve been rather listless lately and that’s the sad I meant.  Cooper’s still around and it’s off and on with him despite being taken out every two hours.  I just can’t seem to get a handle on this.  But, I will!  I was mad at Cooper.  That’s why I didn’t include him!

Everything’s okay.

Best of luck in your new job.  The pugs will be so very excited to see you at the end of the day!

Aww Huckle… can I ever relate. I shoot mine when I sneeze, too (or when I talk, or when I smile, or when I breathe . . . ).

Have had nothing but computer troubles for the last couple weeks.  So tho I’ve sneaked in to take a peek at the Pug family, I haven’t been posting. Think I may have finally gotten it licked, so to speak. We’ll see.

Had a blast looking through the posts. Happy Belated Birthday to Hank and Benny.  Such sweet pictures to look through.  Both get more handsome with every day that passes. (And sweet little Miss Looney, as ever I just want to smooch your sweet little head.)

Taj has been bugging me to play her new favorite game. “Mommy hides and I find her really quick”.  She looks so smug when she sneaks up on my hiding spot and knocks me over jumping up on me.  I think she’s part horse.  How can a body that size have so much force behind it?  It’s unfair. And she has wayyyyyy more energy than Mom.  But it just fills me with such a quiet joy to look at her.  I think my life truly began the day I was Owned by Her Royal Wrinkleness.  And how I ever slept a wink without her snoring in my ear all those years ago, I do not know.  She and I both turned another year older last month, and we celebrated in style (lots of naps and hide and go seek).

Much love to our extended Pug family,

Minx & Taj

And Corrine:  congrats on finding another job so quickly.  The kids will miss you lots, but it’s important that Mom has money for goodies and Pugkin bread, so they’ll adapt and be just fine. Best of luck in the transition

Congrats on the new job Corrine! I’m sure the kiddies will adjust but I totally understand.  given the option, I’d rather work from home most days too and hang with my pug.
good luck!
