Squinty

Henry

When I took the trio to the vet a few weeks ago, Henry was in to have his eyes examined. When we were in Miami, Henry was very squinty when outside. The problem continued when we got back and the vet took a look at his peepers and saw that he has some inflammation in his eyes. Henry was prescribed some eye drops and we have been giving them for almost 2 weeks now. While I don't think Henry is back to 100% yet, he is doing a lot better. He can actually keep his eyes open when he goes outside now. That's very important for a sun worshipper like Henry.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Henry, glad those beautiful peepers are getting better, and hope they continue to heal to 100%. Your mommy takes very good care of you and I know is diligent about those eye drops.

I’m looking forward to a quiet weekendl, and hope everyone’s weekend is the best.

Oh Henry (wasn’t that a candy bar?).  I hope you are more of a willing eye drop pug like Luna rather than like Abby is.  There aren’t enough treats in all the world to make Abby feel like cooperating.  I aim for a wrinkle and hope I’ve gotten an eye one.  Once I even put an eye drop in her nose thinking I’d found the proper place as she struggled.  You wouldn’t be like that, would you Henry?

I love this picture of you and Benny…kind of looks like it’s just a pug world.

Henry would look cool in a pair of shades. Benny too, and like the Blues Brothers they could be the Pug Brothers. And a pink pair of shades with rhinestones for Luna.
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Memorial Weekend.

Henry. You are so handsome. So glad you have eye drops and that your squinting is getting less and less.

Benny looks so cute in the back ground too. Kind of a pug photo bomb? smile

I know Corrine protects her babies like a mother bear but….why are these babies out without their harnesses and on a leash?  None of my business I know…Just worried. smile

Have a great weekend everyone!

HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE. HUCKLE HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS POSTING SO SHE ASKED ME TO POST THIS ON HER BEHALF. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I PUT THIS IN ALL CAPS. smile

Awww. Poor little Proto. Hope tings resolve for him soon. Was he the runt of the litter?

I was crushing pills and hiding it in ground beef but Georgie’s figured that out. I also tried giving him plain ground beef as a starter (and giving the others the same as well so he wouldn’t get suspicious) and that worked for awhile. Now I’m in to hog-trying him (kidding!). He has a sixth sense about what treat contains a pill and what doesn’t even though I try to not let him see me doctoring the treat.

I’ve tried peanut butter, braunschewiger, hot dogs, beef stew, ground beef and they all worked a time or two and that was it. Cheese (as well as broth) sounds like a good idea but I’m thinking I’ll have to heat it to be able to disguise the crushed pill. Georgie refuses to be fooled or else picks up on my anxiousness about whether he will or will not take any of it….rotten little pug! And pill pockets are not his drug of choice.

Thank you all for your ideas. I’ll let you know what works.

I love how Benny in the back is like “huh, what? Can’t I eat grass in peace?”

I am so glad Henry is responding to the drops!  I guess it helped to already have an eye doctor for dogs, so you knew who to go to.

Huckle, here’s a trick I use.  Georgie may be too smart for it, but anyway, I hide the pill in whatever treat I’m using, and get another bite of the same treat.  I put the hand out with the bite w/o pill, but keep it covered with my fingers.  Then I casually offer the other hand.  As Bennie goes for the pill-bite, I show him the other hand that I open and offer the pill-free bite.  He gobbles the first so he can rush over to the second.

WOW! Giving any child (human or Pug) a pill is not fun! So far Dakato has not needed anything but love, food, sleep, food and lots of hugs and play!

Everyone have a great weekend. We are having a new roof put on and seems to be taking forever! Meanwhile when he is here he takes the fence down so the dogs cannot go outside. We let them out really early!
