Pumpkin Bread

Benjmain waiting for pumpkin bread

Saying that Benjamin loves pumpkin bread would be a huge understatement.  The boy goes crazy for pumpkin bread.  He can’t control himself.  He has even scratched at the oven door while the bread was baking!  And when the bread is cooling on the counter you pretty much have to take him out of the house because he will whine, bark, claw and scratch at the counter to get to the bread.

Whenever anyone has a slice you always have to cut a small sliver for Baby Benny, Henry and Luna.  Henry and Luna are very fond of pumpkin bread as well, but not in such a crazy way.

Once it is time for the bread to be put away, you need to be pretty creative.  If you just put the bread in the pantry or any other cabinet, Benjamin will spend all of his time whining and barking at the pumpkin bread.  The boy has a great nose and if the bread is anywhere in the kitchen he will find it!  So we have to resort to hiding the pumpkin bread in odd places around the house, like say in the guest room closet.  I’m just waiting for the day when someone comes over and opens a closet in my house and finds a loaf of pumpkin bread sitting in such an odd place.  It may take me awhile to explain that one.

Our Maggie (11 month old fawn pug) is that way with popcorn.  She recognizes the package, the sound of the popping, and she’ll sit crying while it’s popping.  It’s not possible to enjoy popcorn in our house unless you give her some to munch on while you’re eating!

I love your blog!  My pug, Booger goes crazy for carrots.  Too bad for him he doesn’t have a sweet tooth ‘cause I am sure pumkin bread would be at the top of his list if he did!

That is hysterical.  I have a lab mix that is that way about his tennis ball.  We can hide it on a high shelf when he is not in the room and he will sniff it out.
