Puffy Puff

Benjmin & his puffy

This is a little tribute to Ben’s Puffy done to the tune of the children’s song Billy Boy.

Puffy under the bed

Oh where have you been, puffy puff, puffy puff? Oh where have you been, my little puffy? I have fallen under the bed While you were a sleepy head I am not missing just go ask your mother

Puffy by the pool

Oh where have you been, puffy puff, puffy puff? Oh where have you been, little puffy? You have left me by the pool Oh you silly puggy fool I am not missing just go ask your mother

Puffy in the yard

Oh where have you been puffy puff, puffy puff? Oh where have you been, little puffy? You dropped me in the yard When you were running hard I am not missing just go ask your mother

Puffy in the bin

Oh where have you been puffy puff, puffy puff? Oh where have you been, little puffy? You forgot me in the bin But that’s not a mortal sin I am not missing just go ask your mother

It’s a ridiculous toy, and a ridiculous little song—just the kind of thing we’d sing to our pug!!  I love it!

We just adopted a 10-year-old Pug/Boston Terrier mix from rescue.  She’s a good girl, but feisty, and she disembowels stuffy toys.  We have a few we keep “up” so that our 4-year-old pug, Henry, can enjoy then when his new sister is safely in another room.

Oh, I love it.  You are such a well rounded artistic puggy mom, OBP, and we all reap the benefits. grin

We sing frequently around here, mostly little tidbits made up on the spot to fit the occasion, and mostly to the tune “In the Navy”, and mostly to/about the fellas. (see http://www.ownedbypugs.com/index.php/pugblog/more/qp_henry/ for an example)

I’m gonna have to look for a puffy around here.  Where did you get it?

Thanks so much for the laugh today. I needed it! Such a cute poem.

Ode to the Puffy Puff ...
I enjoyed the poem very much, as well as the pictures of where the puffy puff is often found! Too cute!

I have to agree with Carla, such talent and oh how cute and funny. It’s fun to sing little ditties to our puggies.

Great tribute!  Great lyrics!  I have a similar tribute to Adrian’s beloved hamburger sung to the tune of “Oh, where oh where, has my little dog gone?” It goes something like this:  “Oh where, oh where has my sweet “Hammie” gone?  Oh where, oh where could it be?  With it’s squeaker so loud and its latex so soft, oh where, oh where could it be?” Embarrassed to admit it, but anything for the Puggies!

The “Travels of the Puffy Puff” reminds me of the gnome that was kidnapped and photgraphed all over the world!  That puffy puff sure gets around!

An excellent tribute to an excellent toy!
I make up songs to Ben all the time, and now I realize that apparently this is a trait of pug-people!

Awesome tribute to the puff…LOVE it!!!  That pic of Benny is to die for…soooo handsome.  My Baxter has his “mat”...all four corners are worn because he gets it all wrapped up a certain way and than sucks on the corner while “kneeding” the fold-over with his paws…and yes, I also sing little ditties to my boys too.

This was a great start to the day!!

What exactly is the puffy puff?  C.J. and Toeby also disembowel stuffed toys (after killing the squeaker)and try to eat the innards so we end up pulling the stuffing out and giving them the outer cover back.  They are too silly for their own good!

Toeby’s pal tiger Buford is the only stuffed toy they’ve not destroyed.  I think he’s the only “survivor” left in the toy box!

Poley is the same way with his stuffed squirrel.

You are so very clever! What great lyrics, and such a nice tribute to puffy puff for Ben. If Benny loves his puffy puff that much, there has to be something really special about this little item. I’d love to get one for Lucy. Where did you get this hynotic little toy?

I came back to read all the posts again, and just want to say today’s is one of my favorites!  I’ve been singing Billy Boy all day!  You’re so clever, Corrine!

Puffy was actually one of the first gift G-Ma gave the pugs.  I believe she got it at Walmart and trust me if they still sold them I would buy each and every one of them to have on hand incase anything every happens to puffy.

G-Ma also gave Henry a brown puffy at the same time she gave Benny his.  The brown puffy will sometimes work in a pinch for Benny, but he knows that it isn’t the real puffy.
