Ponce Inlet Pug

Henry

As mentioned earlier, we had some high tide issues surrounding Hurricane Joaquin. Well, we specifically went to Ponce Inlet (the dog beach) to see how the tides effected the dog beach. Well, it was quite a trip. The photo below does not really do it justice but the cliff you see here used to be a slopped path of sand where we would enter the beach. Well, now that has obviously been washed away. This meant we had to take a longer route to get to the beach. Or should I say what used to be the beach. The tide was so high that there was practically nothing left! We did go down to the have some time in the waves. Sadly, I was not paying perfect attention and Henry got pummeled by one! Before that we had been jumping a few waves but the one that took him for a loop sneaked up on me, leveled him and definitely got me more wet than I had intended to get. Henry took it like the champ that he is! #HenryStrong!

Knowing that we shouldn't end the experience on a sour note, we stayed in the water a little longer. Henry ended up having a really good time and so did his peeps. Grammy even joined us on this adventure! Some little puggy even got a bath that night to get rid of the sand and sea water stench. Guess who slept well that night!

It is so great that Henry gets to have these adventures! I think what amazes me the most is Henry liking the water so much.  My Angel couldn’t stand even getting her little princess toesies wet.

Plus he even got to have his Grammy on this adventure too!  #HenryTheAdventureBoy #WetPuggiesRule

I love it that you have so many adventures with Henry and that you share them with us.  Keep going strong Henry.

In some ways maybe not he best, and yet the fact Henry thoroughly enjoyed it makes it a No. 1 winner.  To me this is a heartwarming story.  Way to go Henry.

Will the beach be restored?

Henry’s adventuresome spirit showed itself!  He got tumbled in a wave, but was able to regroup and pick up having fun again!

Maybe Henry found the wave refreshing…:) He looks awfully cute in the first pic-you can see how high the water is in relation to the trees in the background!

Sounds like Henry had a grand adventure!

And to have his Grammy with him must have really made it special. (I’m sure that’s why he didn’t let that sneaky wave get to him. Can’t cry in front of Grammy, right!?)

Hope the people in charge of such things get your dog beach back in “shipshape and Bristol fashion” soon!

Sue VDB- We wondered about the beach being restored, as well.  Sadly, we doubt seriously that anything will be done.  It’s just the kind of town that we live in.  They are too busy arguing about driving on the beach.  No matter your stance, each side can make a case.  So the topic of the washed away beach will likely also be washed away.  :(

That is so sad to hear the beach is gone.  Politics are so dirty and so frustrating, and they keep getting worse.

Yes, Sue.  It is frustrating and just means that we have to carry Henry even FURTHER! Funny not funny.  There used to be a nice little ramp for the handicapable pug.
