Planning

Benjamin

Yesterday, after work, I was hanging out with the pugs enjoying the gorgeous evening. I asked them about their day, informed them about the status of their Halloween costumes and we tried to figure out something fun to do this weekend? What about you? Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

A pug party was planned, but my plans suddenly became more complicated, so not real sure, but I am going to try to get that in.  This would be Annie’ first time at this particular party and I know she would love it.

Happy weekend everyone.

Looks like halloween costume design may be at the OBP household,  eh?
As for my household… it is turkey weekend!  yes, long weekend, turkey and pumpkin pie. Looking forward to getting together with family and friends!!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, even though I know it isn’t turkey weekend for some of you!
As I count my blessings, you are all included.  Many a day, reading your words of comfort and compaasion, hilarious anecdotes and funny antics have warmed my heart, dried my tears and made me smile.  I am truely thankful.  smile  xo
Enjoy the weekend, be safe.

This weekend Lola and Ellie have their 1000 Pugs photo shoot. They are puggies 810 and 811.  They have a spa day today in preparation and tonight they are going shopping for new leashes and harnesses.  They have to look their best.

It is the annual pet blessing this weekend at a lot of area churches. It will be Bella’s first! She will get blessed tomorrow at ‘the big one’ here in town and then Sunday we will take her to our church for their ‘mini’ blessing. It can’t hurt to get blessed twice in one weekend right?!

Pat~Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you have a safe and blessed weekend celebrating with your family and friends!

Amelia~Congrats on 1000 pugs! Have a great time. Will you get to meet Puglet himself? Good Luck to your puggers!

Looks like it’s going to be a wonderful fall weekend here. Such pretty trees with all the fall colors!

Pug Hugs to all from Bella & me.

Gina,

I know Puglet came out for this trip, I don’t know if he’ll be at the shoot.

Thanks for the reminder about the Blessing of the Animals.  I’ve been meaning to take the pugs for years now and always forget.  We’ll try to make it this year after the photo shoot.

Pat

Amelia ~  hope the pug shoot goes well.. Lola & Ellie have fun, hope you get to meet Puglet!

~ Blessing of the Animals, I think that was last weekend for us, was unable to make it :(

Take care!!

Benny is saying, “Come on Henry and Luna it’s time to come in now. They are the best day-brighteners.

Happy Thanksgiving, Pat. I lived in Canada for several years so we celebrate 2 Thanksgivings. I count my blessings that I had the opportunity to live in Canada.
This weekend we are going to a craft festival and it cooling off from high 80’s to 60’s. Perfect Pug weather so the girls can come along and try to keep me from buying more “stuff” for the house.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend everyone.

Benny looks like he is saying lets go to the beach or park Luna and Henry look like they say lets just chill out and relax My plans are to do a home check for pug rescue so hopefully a puggy will find a loving home
Pat happy thanksgiving

Lucy and Pen's Mommy

10/05/2012

Well, this would be a yard work weekend (which Pen and Lucy are not crazy about since they have to stay inside-they wander off to see all the neighbors and we don’t get any work done if they’re outside with us!) But since I’m recovering from major eye surgery it will probably be a “hang out on the couch, snuggling kinda weekend.”
Sue VDB, are you talking about the Pug Party in Chicago? We always wanted to go when we lived in Indiana and it never worked out-always looks like so much fun!
Amelia, Pen and Lucy are jealous, we didn’t find out early enough to register for the shoot in Atlanta. We’ll look for their pictures when the book comes out!
And Happy Thanksgiving, Pat!

Gina

Amelia~Hopefully you will get to meet Puglet. And I love going to the pet blessings! Happy to remind you!

Going to the monthly Boise Pug Meet-Up at ‘The Summit Church’ grounds on Sat (the church allows us to use their back yard for our pug meet,(thank you so much)), then completing the “Pug Pals Rescue” garage sale to end the season.  Pugs are freezing their little puggie bumms off this week. We went from 85 degrees on Monday to 45 today :0 eekkk   Have a great weekend !!

Mercie will be a Devil with HORNS!!!!

Aren’t those of us who don’t have a photo shoot with Amanda this weekend (or any weekend) just jealous of the 1000 Pug project?  I mean, I’m turning green, literally (cheap jewelry!).

Linda, you have some pretty country out there.  We have relatives in Lewiston and visited them the summer I was reading a book on Lewis & Clark and got to dip my tootsies in the Snake River.  Very historic (the river, not my tootsies).  It was a long drive, from Ohio, but wondrous scenery.

Pat, that was a nice sentiment.  We are lucky to have this group, so thank you Cupid, Luna, Benny, Henry and Corrine!

Hellen, a Halloween Party on FaceBook?  That sounds intriguing.  Think I’ll check that out.

Corrine, I know it’s not the smoking kind (is it?) but what kind of grass is in your yard?  The blades appear to be so large and wide.  We are having to do some seeding which makes me aware of grasses to use.  I suppose it’s a special blend for the far south?

Happy weekend, kids!

Lucy & Pen’s Mommy, hope all is going well after your eye surgery.  That’s scary stuff.

Patty25 - I misread your post as “his pants are down” rather than “his parents are down…”  WHAT?  (new glasses needed).

I am turning to all myu OBP friends for good thoughts and prayers.  First all my babies are fine, as am I.

I will try to condense this story.  I picked up a stray dog hanging out at a strip mall trying to get in peoples’ cars.  No one knew who he is and no one was home in the surrounding houses.  Because I was so afraid he would get hurt as he kept staning behind cars trying to back out and the street was within a few feet, I got him in my car.

I drove to the local Animal Control (no kill) and they couldn’t take him because they were full and were not responding to calls except to tell them they couldn’t help!!!  The Humane Society was also full and I was told to take him home until Monday or drop him back off where I found him!!!  My conscientious would not let me drop him off to worry he might get hurt, killed or go hungry, so I took him home.

“Friendly” is just that.  He acts like he has loved me all his life, and showers me with kisses. He is not microchiped, is a young dog, probably not fully grown, weighs around 60-70 lbs.

He is currently in my basement because I have no idea if he tolerates small dogs or cats.  I need to find some place for him to be besides on the streets.  Prayers asnd good thoughts would be appreciated.

Congratulations to Lola and Ellie.  Some people have been critical of Puglet’s human because she has fallen behind…how rude.  She has had some medical problems and has taken on a huge one person task.

Please give her our best from OBP, and let us know how everything went.  I am excited for you.

Sue VDB and Annie Fannie

Pat, I’ve been so involved with “Friendly” I forgot my manners to wish you a safe and very happy Thanksgiving.

10/05/2012

My goodness… everyone is having a busy start to the weekend.
Sue VDB ~ hope you find “Friendly’s” family or a loving place for him to go to.
I also hope Puglets humom will be fine.

Laura~ congrats on the 2 new puppies, cannot wait to hear about the 4 pug household antics!!

Thank you all for the warm thanksgiving wishes.

Sue VDB~ You are an angel. An angel. I will send prayers your way. God Bless.

Lucy and Pen's Mommy

10/05/2012

Yay, Laura, what fun! TWO new puppies??? Sounds like a wonderful weekend!
Thanks, Huckle, I got lucky and was referred to the lady who is apparently the highest rated retinal surgeon in the Atlanta area. It was scary but it went so well I didn’t have anything to be nervous about!
Sue VDB, good luck with Friendly, you’re an angel for rescueing him from that parking lot. Hope you find someone to take him quickly!

Lucy and Pen’s Mommy, this party is in Kansas City and on a much smaller scale called the Pug Parliament Party at an individual’s house.  Mary crafts a lot of pug jewelry, purses, address labels, etc.  We go for pot luck, a lot of converesation and a whole lot of pug watching while they play, and she has her craft itemd on display.

Lucy and Pen's Mommy

10/05/2012

Well, that party sounds like fun, too! We haven’t found anything here in our area yet, besides the SEPRA Pugfest. We couldn’t go last year but we’re definitely going this year. I’m hoping Corinne brings Henry, Benny and Luna again!

Laura, congratulations on your two new additions.  Oh what fun, oh what work.  Please keep us posted.

We are attending the Prone Pug Social in Sturbridge Mass.  We are so excited, as it’s our first, and also, because there should be around 1000 pugs there.  That’s on Sun. And we drove up from NYC this afternoon, early so we could meet some Facebook friends from Wisconsin and Minnesota. It was so great to finally meet them face to face, nose to nose LOL.

Sue VBD, you truly are special to take in “Friendly” even temporarily.  Any chance it could turn out to be permanently? Lol grin

Happy Thanksgiving Pat.  Eat a turkey sandwich and a PCM of pumpkin pie for me.

Lucy & Pens Mom, I hope you eye heals up great.

Have a great weekend OBPers

Gina, no, no, no, we haven’t been to the Pugfest yet, couldn’t go last year. But I remembered reading that Corinne and the babies went last year, so I’m hoping they go again this year so we CAN meet them, maybe! Fingers crossed!!!

Amelia - fantastic.

10/06/2012

Sue VDB, you are such an angel.  I shutter to think what might have become Friendly were it not for you and your huge heart.  They actually told you to just go back and “dump” him?  Unbelievable. I hope for your sake this sorts itself out, but it sounds as if you might have a new resident!

Laura if Grannygoogs was in her heyday, you definitely have to lock your new pups up.  She has a “thing” for baby pugs and I have to admit that I egged her on.  I can only imagine the great time you are having this weekend with two babies. Hope the rest of your household mind their manners when they first meet.  Have you named them already?

Amelia, I am positively frog green.  A photo shoot and meeting Puglet.  How cool is that!  You didn’t mention Lola so I’m wondering if she misbehaved while being photographed?  Were their other pugs there to be photographed as well?

Carla, love those names “Biscuit” and “Rascal”.

Amelia

10/07/2012

Lola wasn’t as cooperative as Ellie was, Ellie responded to treats and Lola could have cared less.  There were birds, people and other things to distract her.

It looks like they both got some good shots, but Ellie was way more responsive to Nikon.

Yes we got to meet three other pugs who were there for photo shoots, just real quick sniff.
