with lots of love
Miss Annie Fannie must have an unusual sense. If I merely open my eyes during the night, and do not move, she is immediately scratching my hand to have her chest rubbed and usually gets it. It is nothing to be answering Annie’s desires 2-3-4 in the morning . That is, of course, in addition to her daytime desires for the same thing. I call that spoiled.
Sleighbelle loved car rides, so she went with me everywhere! She was so happy checking out the sights and smells! On a food note (cause it is all about the food!), she loved granny smith apples and she loved peanut butter. Separately and together. She would crunch and smack those apples like crazy!
Look at you turning the tables;) Goodness…what don’t we do to spoil our puggies?!?!?!From their pug shower, to their pug ottoman at the foot of our bed that stores their blankets, to their endless amount of toys, to their bday presents, their special Thanksgiving dinner(they get turkey and mashed potatoes), to weekend breakfasts with Daddy at the Runway Cafe where the waitress knows they get their own eggs…and on and on. But maybe the sweetest thing is how they are tucked in at night for bed…all cozy in their blankets up on our bed…then they each get a good night kiss on their little pug heads:)
Well, Miss Angel used to have a basket of toys for upstairs and a basket of toys for downstairs; she always got a taste of whatever her peeps were having to eat; she went to the groomers every 3 months for pampering and for being a good girl (no biteys to the groomer for doing her nails!), got her snausages for the ride home. Angel also slept in the big bed and got carried up the stairs at night and down the stairs in the morning. Gosh I miss her so much!
As coco is approaching her 10th birthday…(nov 1)I have been spoiling her more and more (toys, chews, deer antlers)....She will go down steps but refuses to go up them…..I have no problem carrying her up the stairs! I suppose if I started carrying her down them she would insist on that daily. I know she can jump on the couch and go up to the top of the pillows on her own but if I happen to be looking she’ll look at me like…..Hey mom, how about a lift!! And of course I gladly do it! I gotta tell you though….she has me quite spoiled as well…. she goes out 3 times a day….but will gladly do 2. She never asks to go out…she just assumes I’ll handle the schedule. She doesn’t beg for table food. She hates to take a walk. We get out there and its like pulling a cinder block to get her going!! We (knock on wood) have no medical issues so we rarely go to the dr. It’s like I have this live animal that I love but she takes absolutely none of my time…we just coexist together like pb&j. And although she’s so low maintenance….I don’t know what I would do without her. She also gets along well with our 2 cats….sometimes I think she’s part cat for the low maintenance part of her life! What a little gem she is!! xo
How do we spoil Ben? Let me count the ways…
At the top of Mark’s list is what he does during dinner. He has a chair beside him for Bennie to sit on, and he feeds Ben bites - from his plate - during dinner! Not too much, and nothing bad for him, but yes! Our pug has a seat at the table. Every night.
The top of my list is what I call ‘delivery’. When I feed our cat, I have always taken a wee bite for Bennie. Since Ben has started to have difficulty jumping down and back up, I make a treat delivery. He knows it, expects it, and waits for it! Delivery can happen at random times, too.
And then there are the endless other ways we spoil. Bennie, like most pugs, doesn’t like to go outside in bad weather. He and I negotiated a deal where after he goes potty when it’s raining, he gets a biscuit when he comes in. And Ben definitely understands, because only when it’s bad does he expect to collect his ‘payment’.
Bennie also spoils me, too, though! He showers me with snuggles, kisses and love every single day!
give them lots of love every day. rub their bellies, take them for walks, weather permitting. tell them how much I love them. of course, added biscuits and carrots. there is a cupcake place in my neighborhood that makes puppy cakes…I buy them one on Mondays and Fridays, Mondays cause I have to go to work and I have to leave them, and on Fridays, just cause its Friday. They LOVE them.
They are spoiled in just about every way possible! BUT, they are not allowed on the couch…which they NEVER do when we are around, but why are there dents on the back cushions when we arrive back home?
Bed time involves all 3 getting comfy on our bed, some under some on top of the covers.
Watching TV involves pug/puggle piles in our laps. Miss Minnie is not a lap lover but Mack and Mario are and sometimes the kitty joins in.
But they are spoiled with love the most!
My favorite way to spoil Katie is to take her out for a long walk in the forest preserve and she gets to sniff anything she wants as long as she wants (hence it takes us about 45 minutes to go a quarter mile!). Then we have breakfast out together where she gets a bit of scrambled egg and some bacon. After that, she is so tired and happy, she sleeps the rest of the day (snoring loudly of course).
I have to add another one! I bought my pug Katie some of those granulated rawhide chewies, based on Luna and Henry’s endorsement. She loves loves loves them.
So when Charlie (grandma’s shih-Tzu) stopped by, I gave her a few chewies, so Charlie could enjoy them too. Here’s what she wrote me the next day:
“Although I gave him one of those stick treats you gave me while we were in the car, Charlie wanted none of it. So I took it up with us, put it where I usually put his treats and it stood there all afternoon.
Then after we came home from our afternoon walk, he found it. Next I knew he was chewing away like mad.
Fifteen minutes later he started barking. Thinking he had misplaced it, not uncommon, I went to find it, only to discover, it was all gone. Kaput. Totally devoured.
Then the barking started. For 10 minutes or so, he barked to get another treat. And barked. And barked. I gave him one of those bleached out bones he used it love, but he would not stop barking. I pulled out all the stops and gave him one of his favorite chicken bones. No help. He just barked and barked. He did eventually realize he wasn’t getting the treat he wanted and did start enjoying his chicken bone.
So, my dear, you have to tell me how I can get more.”
Thank you for sharing the joy that is chewie sticks. And tell Henry that his love of chewies has inspired two more doggies to love them too!!
Where to begin-I get the girls treats, munchie bones, chicken strips, chicken nuggets, cheese poppers-you get the idea, The problem is what Daisey the Boston will eat one week doesn’t mean she will the next week. Solsie, the pug, is usually content with her peanut butter bones. As for meals-well lets say I have yet to find one food either one will eat even on the same day. Daisey will usually eat if I hand feed her-not spoiled AT ALL! Solsie loves taking our grandson to school in the morning but gets upset when she sees the kids going into this mysterious building-and OH MY-disappearing! She cries till I tell her it’s okay. Love reading all the comments. Pug hugs from pastor sue & the Colorado 2

Well, not a pug owner (just a nutty dog fan!) but our SBT has now become rather over-spoiled! He enjoys a good steak to mark his gotcha day, Christmas, Peep birthdays etc. He has also completely given up the dog bed in favour of sleeping in the peeps bed, under the covers (although he does make an excellent hot water bottle!) the humans resisted for all of about 1 hour before they gave in forever!
