No

Luna

I have talked about things I have learned from the pugs over the years (Henry, Benjamin and Luna), but I don't think I have talked much about things the pugs have learned from each other.

When Sol walked into our lives, Luna picked up one of Sol's personality traits very quickly - the act of saying no. Before Solsey arrived, I think Luna did a lot of things because the boys did them. She ate her piece of banana each morning because the boys seemed to love it. But, it was plain to see that Luna was not very fond of bananas.

The first time Luna watched Sol turn down a bite of banana a lightbulb went off in her head. Sol smelled her banana offering, gave a big huff, spraying snot all over the banana and everything else in close proximity and then looked up with her big brown eyes asking, "What else you got?" In a sign of solidarity, Luna turned down her bite of banana that morning too.

In the short 15 months that Sol was with us, Luna took pride in turning her nose up at many of our offerings. And without Sol, Luna continues to carry the torch. This morning, she didn't even bother to come to the breakfast table to turn down her banana. From the couch, she declared "Bananas, who needs stinkin' bananas!"

I always say that we don’t realize how smart our Pugs really are. Sometimes i feel there is another human in the house!

Each has his/her own taste.  I had one that would kill for lettuce, since then, no one is interested in lettuce.  Then, there was one who loved cantelope, now I have 3 that love cherry tomatoes.

ROFL!!  I can just see the spraying of snot all over everything… something we can all attest to, I’m sure!
So, Luna appears to be saying “What Else You Got?”
Hope you get something yummy.. perhaps pugkin bread??  mmm…

Solsey lives on via Luna, who learned very quickly the proper way to say no.  Luna you are a funny little girl, and learned that no is NO. You have entered the age of women’s lib.

Luna, as princess of the house, I think it is only fitting that you have something delish brought to you.
Birdy loved ‘naners, she would take bites off the whole banana.  And Sleighbelle?  She’s on Luna and Sol’s side…“who needs a stinking ‘naner?”

I think it is so sweet of Luna to carry on after Sol Sol touched so many lifes and is so missed I think miss Luna should have her own special treat in the mourning

My youngest pug, Bugsy, will give fruits and veggies a smell then turn his head and walk away. He can see the others enjoying the stuff too. I love the look on Luna’s face. One of the best pictures of her.

Little Miss Luna, you can have whatever your heart desires smile  I love her sweet face.  I just want to kiss her!

Late today as we had Cole’s eval appointment in Boston re: soft pallet surgery.  Well, many hundreds later they have agreed with what I already knew…Cole needs soft pallet surgery.  Momma sadly does not have the money to afford said surgery yet, so until she can muster it up, it is light on the walks for Mr. Cole.  Luckily, he is no danger, of course, but it kills me not to have the savings to plop down immediately to get things taken care of.  I despise this economy.

Anyway precious, sweet Luna, I adore this picture of you…you look so “girlie”...I don’t know you look light, and fluffy - like an angel on earth (poor description, but it’s all I can come up with to express how sweet you look)...

I think it is wonderful that Solsey taught you to be your own woman…we have our own minds to make up!  The boys are with you here…bananas - nah, what else you got?!

Heather I am sorry to hear Cole needs surgery I think I can say we have all been there money wise and we have to do the best we can dont be to hard on yourself as you are a very good mommy to Cole and Baxter

Thank you for your sweet words, Sue…I needed them.  People say money doesn’t buy happiness, but I’d sure be a lot happier WITH it rather than without…

Boys are both sleeping soundly, one on each side of momma’s leg…Boston field trips are tough work!

heather,

How much does an operation like that cost?

Everything will work out Heather.  I wish I were in a position to help you.  If it hadn’t been for credit cards I would have been up a creek without a paddle several times with emergency vet costs.  Of course they have to be paid off, but my babies are worth every penny I have had to spend.  Give Cole hugs and kisses, and I’m sure everything will be fine.  You and Cole are on my prayer list. While you are at it, give Baxter hugs and kisses too.

Sue VDB, thank you so much…you are too sweet.  The sentiment is much appreciated.  Unfortunately, all the credit cards I have are maxed out from guess…you guessed it, vet bills!  And yes, it is worth every single penny.  The boys get what they need before anything else and that will always be the case!

Cole and Baxter have been kissed from you…and thank you for the prayers…they are warmly felt.

I love that Solsey taught Luna to “Just say NO!”  That’s a very sweet story that highlights both of their beloved personalities!  And it’s a darling picture of Luna, too!  She’s such a pretty girl!

Heather - I’m sorry too that Cole needs surgery.  And I agree that you’re a wonderful puggie-mama!  You’re in my prayers.

That look says that she knows precisely what she is doing and loves every minute of it.  What a sly little girl she is - and adorable.

There is no life without Pugs, especially our own, because we all want to spend every last cent on taking care of them.  Best of luck to you Heather and a kiss to Cole’s head.  Believe that somehow it will work out, it must.  Better plant a kiss on top of Baxter’s head as well, I don’t want him slighted.

Oh Miss. Luna~Tell your Mama to get you something else. My Mom used to have two yorkies and one liked these little jelly heart candies and the other didn’t so my Mom discovered the other yorkie loved peanut butter chips so thats what she got.

My Pip loves bananas so he said he would eat yours for you! What a gentleman.

Pug Hugs to you Miss. Luna!

Must be a pug thing and selective at that, Beauty has a few things she does that Daisey hasn’t picked up on-maybe you can’t teach an old dog new tricks! Luna you are just too funny! Pug-hugs from the Colorado 3

ROFL!!!!!  Luna, you are awesome!!!

Abby LOVES fresh pineapple!!! (but not canned pineapple)...  I have heard of lots of dogs liking bananas, but I cannot get Abby to consider bananas either.  She will come to check it out when I am eating one, but will walk the other way!!
