New Year’s Resolutions

Henry

Shortly after eating all their Christmas treats Benjamin, Henry & Luna racked their brains and came up with a few things they are willing to work on for a few weeks in January and then forget all about.

The boys have come up with a joint resolution. They have decided to learn more about how screens work. Currently, they are unaware that liquids can pass through screens, so whenever they lift their leg to pee on the screen they are always surprised to find pee pee on the other side. So, the boys are resolved to learning all about how liquids can pass through screens, how to recognize a screen and how to not pee on screens.

Benjamin

Luna

Luna's resolution came to her when we were walking at one of our favorite parks earlier this week. We were strolling along and Luna stopped to smell something in the grass and before we knew it she was rolling around like a wild woman in the grass. When she flipped herself over, she was covered in a yellow-greenish goop. If I wasn't too busy gagging over the smell, I would have taken a picture to share with everyone.

So we hurried home and Luna went straight to the tub for a bath. She wreaked and getting her wet only made her smell worse. Lucky for us, whatever Luna was covered in came off with her regular dog shampoo and with a double wash she was as good as new. But, since the experience required a bath, Luna has resolved not to roll around in crazy smells she finds on the grass.

We'll see how long the pugs are able to keep their resolutions. I hope you have better luck with your resolutions.

Too funny! Our Violet used to relish rolling around on dried earthworms on the sidewalks!!  It was crazy.  I’m sure they’ll forget all about their good intentions when the next screen/ good smell comes along.

Very funny.

Diane, I’m with you.  Very good intentions indeed, but the next time screens are in sight or even worse, ucky stuff to roll around in appears, out the window go resolutions.

My furbabies would have to make resolutions that are life altering, especially Minnie, and I’m afraid that ain’t going to happen.  Romeo would have to quit eating poop and upchuck; Minnie would have to quit eating poop, but most of all quit attacking my son; Missy would have to give up her incessant barking; Frankie would have to be friendlier; Jassy, at 19, is beyond resolutions…she just needs to live out what life she has left in a very comfortable manner.

Happy New Year everyone, and if you go out to celebrate please be very careful.

I hate it when our Prince and Princess pugs remind us that they are in fact dogs.  The rolling in poop thing though…yuck! Did she ride home on the roof rack?

Too funny. My pugs, Loki and Zomo, have resolved to spend a little more time sleeping, and also to eat more treats. I don’t know if either of those is even possible, but we’ll see.

Best new year to you and your pugs.

My pugs and sometimes the shih tzu find things to roll around on but so far nothing like your kids found. I hope they never do : )

I love these pictures. The boys want to know what wrong with peeing on screens. Their faces look like they are both saying, “What?”

And sweet sweet Looney~rolling in yucky stuff is not good. Just walk away my dear…that way you can avoid the double bath. But I laughed out loud at what Jennifer Davis said. Riding home on the roof rack. Very funny.

And I must comment on the Christmas pictures. They are great! What spoiled little puggers! As it should be of course!! But little Luna with her face in the paper sack~priceless! One of my favorites!

Pip got a new bed and blanket. He was pleased. I can’t post pics for some reason. I might have to have my sis help me. She is a computer wiz!

Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone!!!

Pug Hugs to all from Gina & Pip!

Huckle, Frankie and Jassy are cats.  I keep forgetting to mention that.  Jassy is a white Persian.  Her name was Jasmine, who was owned by my ex dil, but when my grandaughter was little she couldn’t say Jasmine, and called her Jassy and so I changed her name.  I kept Jassy when they moved from Kansas City to Ohio and was supposed to ship her to my dil, but I refused to put her on an airplane and so I still have her.  I didn’t make points with the dil, but that’s past history anyway.  She had to have a blood transfusion in August, and she had a seizure at the emergency clinic, which has affected her back legs.  My vet gave her a cortisone shot which has helped, and semi drags one leg but she certainly knows how to run for meal time. She has a very hearty appetite, but she no longer knows when she has to pee so has become incontinent and gets lots of hind end baths and lots and lots of crate pad changes.  Ever since I brought her home from a vet visit in November she prefers to be in her crate to sleep so I keep the door open for her.

oh poor luna but,it looks like everyone is enjoying their new year just lounging the day away as mine are also.

Sue VDB - I had to laugh in the middle of your comment.  You mentioned dil and then you said she had to have a transfusion.  Well, my foggy brain didn’t figure it out, but I realized I was reading it wrong when you mentioned the vet!  I was wondering why you were telling us the dil had to have a transfusion.

My computer is finally fixed so I’ll come back to OBP land and dispense more of my comments (keyboard diarrhea) in the new year - BTW - Happy New Year everyone and I’m praying for wellness for all our wonderful, wacky Pugs.  Health seemed to be an over riding theme last year.

Huckle, I guess that’s why I’m not a writer.  I know what I am talking about but fail to convey that to the people who read what I write.  When I read what I wrote I had to laugh too.  Sorry for the confusion.

Huckle

Sue VDB - I’m glad you didn’t think I was insulting you.  Sometimes people come up with the darndest things by a simple misplacement of words or sentences.  You can really come up with the funniest things.  Thanks for a New Year chuckle!

Sue VDB

Huckle, if you can’t laugh at yourself, then it is a sorry state of affairs.  Thanks for making me laugh at myself.

Huckle

sue - I meant a mind “snapshot” that she gave.  I wasn’t very clear on that.

Sue VDB - I think you and I are the only ones “awake” on this blog.

Sue VDB

Huckle, maybe too many trying to relax before heading back to work after a hectic week or two.  Happy New Year.

P.S. Glad your computer is functioning again.

I’m getting a little concerned about Grannygoogs.  She was supposed to be back on OBP before now.  Hope it’s just a computer glitch and nothing else.

Huckle

01/02/2011

Sue VDB - I, too, am wondering about Grannygoogs and since I only have her old email address, can’t get her to surface that way.  I guess the only alternative is to just wait and hope she returns.  She’s such a riot with her comments.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!  I am late to the game, but am loving the gang’s resolutions post (and all the comments making me giggle!).  The boys look sooooo handsome and Looney looks a little embarrassed about her recent roll.  LOL It’s ok Luna, sometimes we all make bad decisions in the excitement of the moment…lol

I am praying for HEALTH for all of our babies in this new year.

Love to you all, Heather, Baxter (who turned 13 the day after XMas grin, and Mr. Cole

Happy belated birthday Baxter.  Did you have a special day with treats and other goodies?

Heather I’m praying with you for the health of all our babies in 2011.  We had some very tragic losses in 2010.

Happy belated birthday to Baxter.  I can just picture the scene at your house with Emma and the big nylabone.  Did Baxter ever get it back?

Heather

01/02/2011

Oh my goodness Sue…I can’t believe our Baxter’s almost share a birthday!!!  How cool is that!?  I love the mental image of Emma and the big snatched bone!

Baxter and Emma have this thing I have gotten them so many nylabones for all the gang and they all chew on them but Emma and Baxter they are funny Baxter is 93 pounds and Emma is about 10 and she always seems to want the bone Baxter has she walks right over to him and takes it out of his mouth and he just looks at her as if to say thats my bone I also got Baxter a big doggie bed for xmas but the five pugs took it over and whats really funny is Baxter trys to lay on one of there smaller beds they really keep me smiling and yes Baxter did get his bone back but not till Emma was through chewing on it

Huckle

01/03/2011

sue - that is too funny of Emma and the bone.  Cooper does the same thing as Baxter commandeering the small and only bed left and tries to put himself in it.  Of course there are overages, because they just don’t fit and with Cooper being all long legs, he beat that problem by lying completely on his back with his legs high in the air.  It reminds me of a turtle turned over on its back grabbing the air furiously trying to right himself up.

yeah, I hate it when I roll on the grass and come up with goop too!  It’s a hard habit to break.  I feel your pain Luna!
