Morning

Benjamin and Henry

The pugs always hang out in the bathroom when I am getting ready for work in the morning. Since the pugs don't like to lay on the tile, except for when they are hot, the rugs in the bathroom fill up fast. That got me thinking, maybe I should have a few dog beds in the bathroom. We don't have any beds in there yet wink

I think I see at least two dog beds in the bathroom in the very near future.  Hang in there babies, I think you have finally gotten through.

Love this picture~ Bella will sometimes come in the bathroom with me but most of the time, she prefers the dog bed in the hall to lay on. She has to be able to see me. My little shadow.

Yes Sue VDB, how is Friendly doing?

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Pug Hugs and love to all from Bella & me.

WHAT??? NO DOG BEDS IN THE BATHROOM??? Outrageous!!! wink We are lucky to have a master bath that is spacious enough for me to put an ottoman in. (It was supposed to be for my husband to sit on while he puts on his shoes and socks but was very quickly appropriated by Pen and Lucy!) The babies hang out on it while we’re getting ready and it catches the sun from the window so it’s also a “sunny spot!” Since they’re elevated, we don’t have to bend down to give them some scritches as we move around the room!

Oh, yeah, Sue VDB, can’t wait to hear about your weekend with Friendly!

Friendly is one fantastic dog, but I really need to find him a place.  He weighs probably between 70-80 lbs. (my feeble guess).  I am physically incapable of handling him.  He s young, very affectionate and very playful.  There is no way in the world I can keep him, and since I am having my elbow surgery tomorrow, I need to find a place for him. Dr. Rowe has offered to board him free of charge for a couple of days until I can find a place.

I spent a lot of time Saturday calling rescues and they are all full or I have to put my name on a waiting list.

The three suggestions offered that I find totally unacceptale are turn him loose where I found him, advertise on Craig’s List, or take him to an animal shelter where they have to accept him.  First of all turning him loose is not an option. I couldn’t bear the thought of him getting hurt or killed.  Craig’s List, really?  There are too many unscrupulous people out there.  The suggested shelter is a kill shelter and as soon as I would take him there, chances are he would be killed.

I have a call in to Animal Control this morning, and the officer is doing some checking for me and will call me back.  I called one of the rescues who gets some of their dogs from Animal Control, but they will not take Friendly except through AC.

I have put up posters, placed a found ad in KC Pet Connect.  This really has been a disheartening weekend, but I am still hopeful something will show up. I would love if someone called me to tell me he is their dog and escaped.

Please continue to pray for Friendly or send your good thoughts.  Thank you everyone for your concern.

SUE VDB, Bless your heart, surgery tomorrow and spending your hours trying to help Friendly.  I am praying for a new home full of love for him and a speedy and successful surgery for you.  Pugs and kisses to you all.

Friendly is now at the vet.  They took him in and commented how strong he is.  Carrie sat down on the floor with him and he immediately hugged her and wanted to shower her with kisses.

I never received a call from AC so I called back and he told me he turned the info into the Humane Society and I would receive call from them.  I called them instead and was informed they have no room and the lady in charge is off on Monday.  So the wait continues and I have been on the phone several hours trying to find a rescue.  They are eithet full or I have left voice messages and have not received any call backs.

I haven’t given up, but will not be able to do much tomorrow.  Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts.

Red is a great color for pugs, fawn or black.
Sue VDB: Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. Bless you for taking Friendly in under your wing.

I’m gonna say it and then I will wish I hadn’t, but my first impression of the bathroom guests was a couple of pot bellied pigs.  Actually, it’s the way they are laying (so cute) that made me think this. (sorry)

Sue VDB, I hope your numbers have dropped down so that you can actually have that surgery.  I think waiting would be hard because you want it done and get yourself psyched up and then, no go.  Best of wishes for tomorrow.  I feel so bad for Friendly, he just wants a home.  Hey, what if you got a news story out on him, would that work?  I guess you’d start that process by either calling the newspaper or t.v. stations?  Just a thought.

Sending prayers for you & Friendly for successful surgery for you and for a forever home for friendly. It is sad to have fur babies abandoned-I give thanks for the kind souls of this world. Now to the pug/bed situation-we have rugs-yeah! this means comfort for the girls and no falling over dog beds for us. pug hugs from pastor sue & the colorado 2.
