Making It Work

Benjamin, Henry and Luna

It has been hot out, but the pugs have managed to still get in some lounge chair time a few days each week. They just love to get out there and soak up the sun until they get too hot.

They usually all arrive at the chair at the same time, but they are staggered in leaving. Benjamin always gets hot first and retreats to the house. Luna is never far behind Benny and Henry usually outlasts the other two by a good 15 minutes.

I hope your weekend involves a little lounge chair time. grin

I wish Bella and I were your neighbors - I so adore reading about your “crew”.  Bella has allergies - so this hot, muggy weather in Iowa REALLY doesn’t agree with her and we’ve had so much rain the past month - the mosquitoes drag us into the bushes and mug us if we’re dumb enough to tarry too long on our “potty walks”.  I’ve become a real fan of winter anymore!

I bought her a “kiddie pool” for the back yard - but - again - allergies & bugs vs. AC and Netflix seem to win us over most weekends.

You-all have a great weekend also!

The three of them lounging together makes one adorable picture. Even in the heat, I’m glad they get to enjoy some lounge time.

Yay Baby Benny, running laps.  That is great news.

Happy lounging everyone.

Seems like they have made napping an art form!  Makes me yaaaaaaaaawn.

For all of you who have shared the ups and downs of Cooper’s cancer and have been so supportive, I will tell you that Cooper is now at the Rainbow Bridge and at peace at last.

So many of you have shared similar trials that Cooper’s passing will bring those dear pets back into your minds and I am sorry for that pain.  However, I find it comforting to picture all of them at the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh Huckle…I’m so sorry to read this today…you are incredibly thoughtful to think of the rest of our thoughts, but know that our loved angel fur babies are always in our minds and the pain is always there so we are hurting right *along* with you, not because of…

It is a nice thought to think of all of them playing together at the rainbow bridge, isn’t it?  When Sue VDB and I shared the same sentiment a couple weeks back, I conjured up this image in my head that makes me smile…Cooper is now added to our OBP Rainbow Bridge pack in my dreams…I hope the image makes you smile as it does for me.

May Cooper now have peace and be pain free…You will be in my thoughts and prayers…I know how difficult this time is…If you need a virtual hug, you know where to find us!

Oh Huckle, please accept my deepest condolences.  I know how hard it is, and hope you and your hubby can be consoled by the good times with Cooper.  Also hope that knowing he is now free of illness and pain and romping with all of our babies at the Bridge bring you comfort.  Hugs to you, your hubby, Abby, Gracie and Georgie.

Huckle, it is Saturday afternoon, and I just got around to looking at yesterday’s OBP.  I am so very sorry for your loss. No doubt, Cooper knew that he was loved and cherished and that helped make his journey over the rainbow bridge easier for him.  It is always hardest on those left behind.  Again, I am so sorry to hear this.

Love the pugs getting a little sun. Little Luna looks like she is thankful to be in the back!

My old Gal GiGi will lay inside the back patio door most days.  The front porch only gets a few snoors

Sorry to see Cooper has gone over the bridge. This is so hard for us humans but know he is having a great time over the bridge.

HI Huckle, So sorry to hear of Cooper’s passing-I am glad that another sweet fur baby is at peace with firends at the rainbow bridge. As for the painful memories, not to worry, these are replaced with the loved memories when our sweet babies were healthy and in no pain. They trust us to do what is best for them even if it is so very painful for us. may you have peace in the good memories! Peace & Blessings- Pastor Sue & the COlorado 9

sue s - what a nice comment, so comforting.  All of you have been so caring and helps us as we deal with this latest pain.  You all are so helpful and I treasure this OBP family.  My husband is having a bad day today as the waves of despair and sadness overwhelm him. I just try to stay strong however I’m jello which doesn’t help him at all.

When he is ready I will approach him about Ohio Boxer Rescue where we got Cooper. He says no more but would open his heart in a minute were he to see one in need of rescuing.

I’m not trying to hog this space but here’s a cute mind-picture.  Years ago when we lived in the country, Brian’s dog, Buddy (a German Shepherd), developed heartworm and was being treated.  However treatment didn’t work and he died, leaving a large hole in our family.  Months later I saw an ad in the paper for German shepherd pups.  My husband was umpiring at the time, so I called the people and went out to see the pups.  Of course I bought him.  Well, I took this happy, silly puppy home. Brian would be coming home late so I fixed up the puppy with a big red bow for his collar and left him in the bedroom.  When he came home, he went into the bedroom and came out, surprised with the puppy and bow in his arms and no more was said about not getting another dog.

Huckle, I have a good feetling that Brian is going to get another boxer the same way he got the GS.  I know you are still hurting, but you know that all of us at OBP have you in our thoughts and are giving all of your virtual hugs.

Huckle, please add my thoughts and prayers…I didn’t get this in my inbox but was back revisiting…I am so sorry.  You have an awesome outlook and I’m so glad that you are able to be strong for your husband.
The time will come, the black cloud will lift and he’ll open his heart again…You sound like very caring people.  God bless!

Huckle

Thank you, Karen B. and all of you.  I showed my husband your messages of caring and concern and his eyes and it made his eyes leak yet we can still find the funny (like Georgie nursing on Gracie) while we honor the memories of our time with Cooper.  You all have helped.  Thank you!

And Huckle, on the LIGHTER side…Boy, am I embarrassed about thinking the “on the other” question meant the “LOVE” situation!  LOL!  I’m sorry I have no answers for this question but I got a huge laugh when I found out you meant nursing on the other!  My face is red and I apologize if I offended any one!

Yes Karen, you were funny in your thinking but see how you could have thought that.  I’m sorry to lead everyone down the wrong street. (I could kick myself when I let loose with only part of the message making it onto the internet.  I also do this with cell phones!
