They are just too cute!
What a great picture. They lined up so well. Is Luna safe to be down wind of her big brothers?
We took Georgie to Michigan for his “pincushion” appointment on Monday. After we got out of the van, I retrieved Georgie from the back seat and put him on the ground to relieve himself. He did one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen. Instead of standing, he sat down on his tush and his little back legs went up in the air in unison on each side, as if he was a rocking chair. It’s hard to describe because it was so silly. We told the vet and he said it was full anal glands and expressed them (Georgie did not think that funny).
Yesterday Georgie had to go to the regular vet - another UTI - and I told him. He said he’s seen that lots and that the engineering on the pug is certainly goofed up, their tail position gets in the way of normally expressing those glands and they mimic rocking chairs to itch themselves.
Anyone have an idea of the cost of an MRI for dogs? It’s not immediate (I hope) in Georgie’s case but there could be a relationship between Georgie’s bladder and underlying neurological problems. We would have to go down to Ohio State (2 hours away) for this procedure which might mean an overnighter. The vet said it would be expensive but by the time he told me, my heart was clinched in fear and I didn’t press him on a ballpark figure of it.
Everyone have a great weekend. It looks like it could be a nice one here although a bit chilly.
This picture would put a smile on anyone’s face.
Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable weekend.
What a wonderful picture! What are the puggers looking at?
Huckle~Did Georgie ‘scoot’ when he was in that position? Thats what Bella does when her anal glands are full. But she scoots across the floor. We call it ‘choo choo charlie’. Geeks, I know.
And poor Georgie! What is going on with this sweetheart? And that is so interesting that a bladder issue could be connected to a neurological problem. I don’t know what that would cost. Maybe call and ask him. Did he mention when? Maybe you could start saving your pennies. I will continue to pray for ‘our’ boy.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Pug Hugs from Bella & me.
very nice picture of the three
Huckle I am not sure of the cost but I heard between 1500 and 2000 I would ask you vet
Hope everyone has a great weekend
They know Santa is watching. Not that any of the OBP pugs have anything to worry about. Hope each of you have a great weekend. Huckle, hope things go well with Georgie. We need another pug miracle and all his symptoms resolve.
This is a very sweet picture!
HUCKLE: Really sorry to hear about Georgie’s troubles. Wonder if acupunture or some chiropractic manipulation (if you have qualified vets who do this) could alleviate some of his internal (bladder) problems rather than the MRI and more traditional route? I’m sure if you contact the vets at Ohio State they can give you the cost of an MRI and any associated fees for additional treatment if that’s the route you wind up having to go. (I will pray for more healing for Geo. in the meantime.)
As to the booty scooting - Bella has been dragging her tail across most every carpet in “her” house for quite some time. I have the vet check her anal glands when I bring her in for her “pedicures” every 6 weeks - but she does such a fine job of “expressing” herself, there’s nothing for him to do. And there’s nothing that I’ve been able to do about her tushy twirling except keep a good supply of Resolve for carpets (pet odors).
And finally, it would seem that it would be Benny and Hank who are down wind of Luna - at least in this shot.
I’m sending a kiss for Georgie-boy and will keep all the precious puggers at OBP in my prayers.
just too precious they are.
Georgie says ‘thank you’ for all your concern and interest and thanks Gina, sue and Mary C. Hopefully it is nothing more than a UTI, of course. Mary, that is so logical and I didn’t think of it. And thanks for the thoughts for Georgie. This is the second time the vet mentioned a neurological connection to an illness of Georgie.
Georgie is not scooting but sitting and rocking his little legs up in the air.
Thanks sue for cost idea. I was afraid it would be in the $1500-1200 range. Maybe I could sell Abby?
So ADORABLE !!! 3 pugs in a row
Hey Georgie’s Mom I hope all goes well with the MRI and yall are in my prayers.
