Giving Thanks

It has been quite a year here at Owned By Pugs. We rescued a little girl pug, re-designed the OBP website and even opened H.Doodle.com (A Little Shop for Little Dogs). So, there is a lot to be thankful for this year. We thought we would give the kids a chance to tell everyone what they are thankful for.

Benjamin's Puffy

Hi! It’s Baby Benny, I want to tell everyone that like every other year I’ve been alive, I am thankful for my puffy. My puffy is my little security disk. I take it to bed every night and sometimes I even carry it around with me in the daytime, too. There are times when company will come over and I will shove it in their face. (I like to show it off.) But they think that means I am giving it to them. NO! It’s my puffy! I am just showing it to them. If they want a puffy, they can get their own. My puffy is very precious to me.

Benjamin and his pillows

I am also thankful for my pile of pillows. I have a pile of pillows in the bedroom, the living room, the flex room and the guest bedroom. My family keeps a lot of pillows around and I am the pillow king of this house! Love my pillows! Yeah, yeah! So thankful!

Pumkin Bread

I am of course, also quite thankful for food. I love my breakfast, lunch & dinner. But I especially love treats…like pumpkin bread, my morning bite of banana, stealing Cheerios, apple cinnamon softies from Doggie Dayz and any frozen treat from Ritter’s.

Henry in the Pug Tug

Hello. Henry here. I like to keep it simple. Ever since we moved here to Florida there have been a couple really important things that I am especially thankful for: the beautiful fenced in yard with grass to roll around in, the warm sunshine to warm me and the chilly swimming pool to cool me when the sun gets to be just a little too much. I love to be outside and soaking in the warm Florida weather. Yes, it is a pugs life for me! Very appreciative, I am!

My family

Hey! It’s little Luna! Talk about thankful! I am the Cinderella story of this household! I went from pug rags to pug riches when I got this gig. There is so much for me to be thankful for. As most of you know, I wasn’t very well taken care of early in my life. I came here and I got a fun family that loves me, takes care of my medical needs (eye drops every day, eye surgery, seeing a dermatologist, the works!) I didn’t have that before and now I feel great (even if I don’t look that much better—-I am definitely healthier!) I sure do appreciate it! I am also so thankful to have 2 brothers that look out for me and having them to cuddle with is just a super feeling! I am also appreciative to the nice lady at compassionate pug rescue that found me this great home.

My Box

Hi. It’s me, Cupey cat. I know that this blog is “for the dogs” but it is Thanksgiving and I would like to express my gratitude, as well. I love my wicker box (even though sometimes I have to share it) and my carpeted perch (which I don’t have to share) but what I am most thankful for here at the new house in Florida is the terrific screened in porch where I can watch the squirrels and the geckos and they can’t get me and the great grassy lawn that is fenced in for my protection. I like to go outside and chew on a blade or 2 of grass, chase the bugs and roll on the lawn on a sunny day. I am just as spoiled as the rest of the critters around here but I am not too proud to say thanks! I am quite appreciative even if I don’t show it that often. I really am!

The Yard

The humans here at OBP have a lot to be thankful for, too. We have terrific family & friends and of course the pets (which are really a big part of the family but the humans might get a little irritated if we didn’t give them top billing) but we are appreciative to you all in the pug community for giving us support through the adoption of our newest pug, Luna and with the the roller coaster of medical issues we have had with her these last few months. We appreciate you and your dedication and support to the cause of all good to all pugs. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Happy Thanksgiving from your human and animal friends in Canada. Our Thanksgiving was in October. Thanks for the blog and the beautiful pictures. It’s snowing here today on Saltspring Island. The pugs love it and look like moles tunnelling under the snow. We’re going to sit by the fire now and snuggle under warm blankets.

I just want to say that I am very thankful for having the opportunity to share your wonderful pugs with you. Reading Luna’s thanks brought tears to my eyes and I am so glad that she has found such a wonderful home. If ya’ll are ever in Missouri - you’ve got friends, I’ll even bake pumkin bread smile

Hi all you wonderful people and really wonderful pugs, a bit of news from South Africa> We are a large family, there’s our Mom (Grannygoogs) and our Dad (Oki) then we have two sisters (who sadly for them are not pugs - but we love them all the same.) We also own a very old cat - Figaro and them Mom also adopted an African Grey parror. Our family has really grown this year as Grannygoogs and Oki arescued two new brothers and two new sisters for us. We were so happy to welcome them to our home as they had been treated so badly. One of our new sisters - Oumi nearly died before Mom rescued her, her poor back and head were covered in cigarette burns and she had really bad mange, but after three months of living with us, she has recovered and has a real jest for living. Mom and Dad rescued our new brother and sister last week, we haven’t met them as they, too were very badly teated and they are still in the Hospital, Mom told us this morning that Dad would collect them tomorrow. We can’t wait!!
We will keep you all posted on their arrival and we get Mom to put some picture on the site.
You all hav a really good Christmas and stay in touch!!
