File This Under Things That Never Happen

Cupid and Benjamin

The cat must have been mighty thirsty to get a drink a water while Benny was still eating his dinner. Just think of all the dog germs Cupid must have contracted while drinking next to a pug that is chowing down his food.

What a laugh for a very cold, rainy day.  And, it almost looks as if the patch off of Benny’s back has something to do with the plug-in on the wall.

Abby certainly has a bee in her bonnet although I’ve yet to discover why.  I was feeding Georgie and trying to coax Abby to have some food from my outstretched hand and the spoon.  Why she wouldn’t take the offered food, I don’t know but she definitely had a reason that to her made sense.  After sitting and just looking at me as I tried coaxing her, she stood up, walked about a foot away, promptly turned her back on me and sat down where she remained while Georgie finished his meal.  When Georgie was done, they both went elsewhere.  And, yeah, the three pugs eat their meals from a spoon, one at a time.  (But there is a reason for such pampering.)

Cupid doesn’t mind the germs, after all the Pugs are her siblings and she loves them!

Huckle: Love the story about the spoon feedings. I hope Abby gets the bee out of her bonnet. Maybe she is perturbed because Georgie was getting attention and she wants to be Queen Bee?

Love this. You can tell Cupid is annoyed b/c her ears are back. “How dare he not leave while I’m drinking.” The nerve!!!

Huckle~as usual, you crack me up. Poor Abby. Had to turn around and put her rump towards you.

Pip did that once. The doxie we babysit was being dropped off and we were all lovin’ on her. Well Pip was at the top of the stairs and promptly turned around and layed down with his rump pointed our way.

Pug…they are so similar!!

Cupid must have been REALLY thirsty to take such a huge chance on Benny germs.  This is funny, but also an adorable picture.

Huckle, how long does it take for you to spoon feed everyone?  I’m curious why.  Do you care to share?

It is strange to see cupid drinking next to Benny eating but it is a nice picture

No doubt Cupid knows she has built up an immunity to dog-cooties.

And Huckle, I can’t wait to hear about the spoon-feeding!

Oh dear, this makes me sound like a kook (no comment).  However, I used to get manically mad at Cooper because he would always eat the three pugs meals, despite the fact we have a gate to the kitchen.  That should have worked well except that the pugs just left their food until it had “seasoned” properly.  Go figure, pugs.  The problem with their delaying is that I would eventually walk out of the kitchen leaving the gate open.  They wouldn’t stay behind a closed gate, I tried that but they always had to be where I was.  This went on month after month and their problem in not eating their food was that Cooper would slink into the kitchen and eat ALL the food.  (Probably has something to do with him weighing 99 pounds.)  That made me mad enough and this went on day after day. (I’m a human with a gimpy brain and a slow learner.)  Well, Georgie’s food also had his medication in it.  Then I’d have to try to get him to take it hidden in peanut butter, cat food, you name it.  The vet probably thought I was mainlining since I had to ask for more medication all the time. I have no idea if the medication made Cooper any more healthy but it should have.  That strategy worked for awhile but then he stopped cooperating.  One of those light bulb moments hit me and I thought as long as I was giving Georgie his meds why not hide it in his dog food and spoon feed him that way. That was a success, sort of.  The whole process had Abby in a snit so to placate her, I got her a bowl and spoon fed her.  Gracie was all right for awhile but then she stopped eating HER food.  Of course, spoon feed all of them came about when Gracie refused to eat from her bowl and also had to be spoon fed.  Cooper was on the losing end of this because his free food was now gone. Just as well.  At the last vet visit it was recommended that we give him green beans, and a lot of them for filler with his regular food.  At any rate, twice a day I get the bowls out, go to my chair, call the pugs and spoon feed them, their little mouths opening like baby robins in a nest.

Huckle, oh my.  This must take forever.  Do you feed them once or twice a day?

Okay, I always say “gettin’ old ain’t for sissies”, but I must really be getting brain-dead.  Ms. Huckle did you imply that you have a 99lb Pug, or was that just a bit of sarcasm or did I otherwise miss something?

Ok Huckle sorry about my last statement.  If I would pay attention to what you wrote…twice a day.

Actually Steve, you had me laughing at the idea of a 99# Pug.  I should have mentioned that the 99#s belongs on an “idiot” Boxer (sorry Boxers) named Cooper who pushes every button I have.  I would really like to trade him in on another Pug but my husband won’t hear of it.  However, if there are any ‘Boxer nappers’ out there who would like a job…

Huckle, you are too funny!

Hello Ms. Huckle,
Maybe Cooper isn’t so much the idiot as he would have folks think.  If he is able to push all your buttons that sounds a little cunning.  It also sounds like a certain Pug named Dolly who pushes my buttons regularly.  I love it!

Steve, that’s a good take on Cooper and I’ll think on it but I’m afraid the poor boy is daft.

Aw, he just needs some serious love.
