Eye Oops Follow Up

Henry

In case you have been wondering.....Henry's corneal scratch (or should we say "chunk"?) is healing. It has indeed been a slow process. A process which has required several more trips back to the vet for follow up. (We had to be sure it was indeed healing and that is not something we can spy with our own naked eye.) The good news is, so far, we have not needed to venture beyond our own general vet. If we had to make these frequent trips to our eye specialist it would have been bad news. (Seriously, who can take 4 hours a day off every other day for 2 weeks without suffering some recourse at work?) So, we have been lucky that Henry is healing his Henry way: slow & steady. The way he does everything. But it has worked for him this long. So, why change now?

Henry will keep healing and we will keep dosing him and hopefully it will all be fine again soon. (I doubt night trips with his head out the car window are vet approved or good for his healing.) But they are more good for his mental health and that is what we need even more than a quick healing eye these days. So, we gotta take what we can get and sometimes that means making trade offs.

Glad to hear Henry’s eye is healing. He sits up so proud in this picture.

You are right, sometimes there have to be trade offs, and if Henry’s head out the window helps his mental health, well that’s the way it is.

I think we all heal better when we are less stressed…I’m betting the head out the window helps with his stress…plus think of all the oxygen he’s getting that way:)

I’m so glad to hear that his eye is steadily healing.  AND that your regular vet is able to monitor that so you don’t have the long round-trip to contend with.  I am sure it’s challenging enough to fit a vet visit into every other day even with your local doctor!

Henry’s rides with his head out the window are so good for his mental health that it’s definitely worthwhile!

Great picture of Henry!  It looks as if he’s patiently (or maybe impatiently) waiting for you to start the engine and get moving!

What Henry needs is some “Doggles”. Then he can hang his head out of the window with abandon!!

Keep getting better Henry, we are all pulling for you dude!

Glad Henry is healing-if it’s slow, well we’ll take it one day at a time. And if head out the window is what makes Henry’s day-so be it! #Henryallthewaytothehilt. Pug hugs from pastor sue & the Colorado 2

What a great looking dog. Adorable to the max. I wonder if vet visits help our dogs’ mental/emotional health…
