Eye, Eye Captain
Today we will be taking Luna back to the opthamologist. Her chronic dry-eye condition needs to be revisited. When we first took Luna to the opthamologist, her left eye scored moderately on a 1-20 scale for lubrication. Her right eye, however, scored a 3 which is terrible. The doctor put her on a series of 3 different medicated eye drops. She had been on only 1 set of drops before, but the vet said that when used in combination the medications seemed to work better. Her tear production then increased up to a 20 in both eyes. We were so pleased.
Well, at the next visit, they dropped her down to 2 different types of drops and then they wanted to see how that worked. When she was re-tested, her left eye remained about the same but the right eye dropped down to an 8. That is not too good especially since she was once a 20! Unfortunately, her right eye is looking even worse and now we must take her back for a checkup to try to get her on the correct balance of medications.
We were so excited when her tear production was off the charts but now things are starting to slip again and it is so difficult to see her little eye all yucky. Even though she never expresses that she is uncomfortable, you know she has to be. She is a little trooper. So, off to the specialist we go. We will let you know the results and keep you posted on the little girl’s condition. Wish us well.

OH Luna! Get better! She’s so cute.
I wish I could give her some of my pugs eye wetness. His eyes are so moist that we see tears drip from his eyes at least once a day. Poor guy. He can’t help but cry!
