Chilly Morning

Benjamin and Luna

Last weekend there was a little bit of a chill in the air in the early morning. Benjamin and Luna were snuggled up in their blanket while we played our early morning Scrabble game. Luckily, we had a nice mug of hot tea to keep us warm. Blankets in this house are pretty hard to come by. The pugs are always commandeering them.

Scrabble! Online?  And pugs!  If you ever want another online scrabble friend, let me know.  smile  I was playing this morning while my pug Henry and half-pug Mary Abigail snoozed.

This is a sweet picture.  If the pugs are commondeering the blankets, does that mean there is a collection of blankets to go with the dog beds?  Just wondering.

Snug as 2 Pugs in a Rug.  Lil’ Luna looks so cute peeping out of her corner in the blanket.  I suppose Sir Henry demanded his own Snuggie.

SUE VDB:  You’re such a sly dog.

Florida weather, eh?  At least we in the north know when we can count on cold weather.  Absolutely loved the pics of Luna and Benny smusched down into the peach blanket.  The look on their faces rather says what they think of the weather.

We’re in to “booty twirls” (Mary’s phrase I believe).  The two girls are spinning like tops after their potty breaks so that will be something I’ll have to investigate - or rather, let the vet!?!?  Georgie just sits and watches his sisters as if to say, ‘it must be a girl thing.’

Huckle:  Just hope that Georgie doesn’t decide to join in the “dance”.  (I think I was referring to Bella’s actual booty-SCOOT on the carpet (though it is a circle-scoot - which she does waaay too much -as it isn’t even an “anal” thing - except in her pug-brain.  She just likes to do it I think.  It may be because I always wipe her tush after poo potties with a wet paper towel.  Maybe I should use lotion after as the wet makes it itchy for her.  OHHH good grief!  I’m INSANE!  This is definitely waaay more information than anyone - even a devoted pug owner - needs to know.
I also forget who was dealing with a UTI - but I do believe that the Science Diet c/d (both dry and canned and giving Bella filtered water for her allergies has helped her immensely in this area . . . even without the cranberry pills.

I just checked the Pug Pics.  I had submitted (or so I thought) a picture of Romeo at the Pug Parliament party.  What uploaded was a picture of Melvin, a 4-1/2 month old pug who was born blind, and to whom I became very attached to at the party.  I haven’t a clue as to how that picture uploaded when I selected one of Romeo.  I think.

HELLEN:  Get better really soon - then find another doctor.  We have a few places (pharmacies) with “drive-thru” flu shots.

Sue VDB, well at least you can get your photos uploaded.  I can’t even come close to getting on.  I keep reducing pixel size (pretty soon they will be the size of a postage stamp (they still have those, don’t they wink )

Well, darn it Hellen, you don’t need this especially now but I hope you have a quick recovery.

Looking and those two snuggled all up in the blanket makes me want to have some saskatoon berry cider. Mmm.

There is much snuggling in blankets up here on the frozen tundra lol.  Lilo won’t even lay down until i throw the blanket over my legs on the couch.  Plus she already has her fleece top on.  Every night we say a prayer for the wonderful people at Sunbeam who make mattress heaters.  I turn it on high about an hour or so before bed, and turn it right down when we crawl in.  It’s oh so cozy.  My dad says Lilo is spoiled lol.  Well you know it’s cold when you crawl into bed and the dog doesn’t lay in her usual spots, but paws to get in under the blankets, and then come and lays on you for heat.  Last night i forgot to take one of my pills so got up, came back and look who’s in my spot at the top of the blankets warming her toes!

Oh Mary, you are too funny! Lilo gets a good old butt wiping after a poo too! I bought a case of baby wipes. I have the big plastic one at the back door, and there are even small pacs for in your car, or singles to carry in your pocket.  Must be the nurse in me. She does prefer these (slightly) to the paper towel.  No matter, i still experience the occasional drive by “a**ing” of my couch, or blanket, or shirt. I am the queen of cleaning microfibre!

It’s my Lilo dealing with the UTI.  I have found this really expensive treat that she likes that are a twist of venison with cranberry.  I have never heard of cranberry pills.  I’m sure she would jump on that bandwagon if it means more cheese.

Huckle i love that term “booty twirls”.  I guess i am fortunate that i don’t have that going on as well.

Hellen, so sorry to hear your sick, I hope you feel better soon.

In happy news, we will be adding another pug to our family circle.  My brother who will be moving in with me over the next month will be getting a little black boy just before Christmas.  A friend from our pug group had a little surprise after their holidays. The kennel put her unaltered male and female together while Itsy was in heat.  Whoops!  Little fella is all black but with a white mark on his chest, looks like he is wearing a tux.  He’s wracking his brain for names.  Took him forever to decide which puppy he wanted, poor thing may be NoName for a while lol!

Wishing you all the best, love Lilo n Me!
