Caption This #63
Benny was scratching at the bin with the knucklebones in it so I dumped it on the floor so he could have first pick. He picked them all.
Looking forward to your captions in the comments.

I have hit the motherload…life is good.
Seven little, eight little, nine little knucklebones…
So many knucklebones so little time…..
One for you…
TEN FOR ME!!!
WHEEEE!!!
Now that I look at Benny’s face again…
He’s thinking…You can’t be serious? All of these? For me? All at once? Are you feeling OK mom?
This is ALL? Check that bin again…I smell more.
I MUST be dreaming. All of these knucklebones and they are all mine? Wow Mom, you’re the best.
“I just can’t choose…what do I do….decisions, decisions!”
Heaven…I’m in Heaven…
or
Mine, all mine!!! Bwahahaha! (sinister laugh)
OBP, don’t you find these bones are messy? On their paws and faces and their beds, carpet, wherever they are eating them? How do you deal with that? Is this an outside treat and then you “hose ‘em down”?
“You mean this isn’t what you meant by ‘go ahead and pick’?”
Tee hee!
Caught with the loot!
I also see him sayin’ “woman have you lost your mind? don’t you know that NOW THESE ARE ALL MINE??? you can’t take them away…not with this beautiful face!” hehehehehe
PS - I’m with Christina - how do you keep your house so clean and give these to them? Are they cooked? Store bought? I wanna get some for my boys!
What are you looking at? It’s my cheat day….
The knucklebones are extremely messy when you first open them. When they are new, we lay down a towel for each of the pugs and they chew them on that. They know they have to chew on the towel, too! Once they clean off all the gunk, they aren’t too messy so they can chew them wherever they like.
We get them at the grocery store and they are ready for the pugs to eat. They are in the pet aisle, not in the meat case. I’m not sure what you need to do to the bones in the meat case.
So many bones….so little time(before the other guys find them)....no wonder a pug has wrinkles!!
OBP! Thank you - I’m stopping today to get them some! I think these are the same ones our pet store sells (Centinela pet). My boys are trained to eat their treats on a towel too! When I go to the cabinet they immediately know what I’m taking out! Then I lay out the towels and the sit there dancin’ til they get their treat (which has been edible nylabones)My Frankie doesn’t seem to like those though (he likes to chew) so I believe this is going to be PERFECT!
Question: I thought these were not good for dogs. I have heard some many things about rawhide being bad for them. Whats the deal?
Dee - Our brand is “Butcher Bones”, but they are probably just the same thing, but a different brand. Also, I only let the pugs chew on them for a short period of time especially when they are new. If they get too much at one time I am afraid it will make them sick.
Hayley - I have heard a lot of different opinions on what dogs should and should not chew. My gang does chew rawhide bones, but I do try to keep it in moderation. The vet we took the boys to when they were pups recommended rib bones, kind of like this but flat and much smaller, to give to them to chew. The knucklebones are kind of the same thing but they are much larger. With the knucklebones, I think you just have to be careful that they don’t get too much fat off of them. The pugs aren’t allowed to have a bone unless I can supervise. That way I can be there if they break off a piece to big. I guess your best bet is to check with your vet and get their opinion.
Thank you. I’d love to give them a treat like this every now and then. Now I tend to give them a small piece of deli meat (just a pinch) every other morning or something before I leave the house. But I was hoping to find something other than human food…
Thanks for the info! We are in the process of finding a new vet rigtht now so as soon as we do, I will definitely bring that up.
As info, my dogs no longer are allowed to have chew sticks of any type. My BoPeep ate one and it caused her stomach to twist. She had to have surgery and fortunately she survived. My vet told me at the time that these were not good and he, too, found out the hard way. One of his own dogs had to be rushed to surgery for the same reason and he didn’t survive. Before you know it they can swallow pieces of them.
Sleighbelle is no longer allowed to have any sort of chewie either. She is a big chewer (is that a word?!); and she would either throw it up or she would start to choke on a piece and I’d be there sticking my fingers down her throat. She was never allowed to chew without me there. She was trained to chew only on a towel as well. If these knucklebones don’t split and they don’t get all super soggy and slimy, then maybe it would be ok for her. I’d have to limit her chewing time as well.
C.J. and Toeby couldn’t live without their chewies. I buy the dental “rawhide” chews at my vets office. They actually recommended them and they are digestible, unlike rawhide which isn’t. Plus, they are good for the teeth and clean them at the same time! I also buy the Nylabone DURABLE chews because Toeby is very “oral” and always has to have something in his mouth. He can’t destroy those at least!
It’s mine all mine. Don’t touch my Knucklebones
I love my bones. I love you Mom thank you for the treats. You are the best mom in the world. I’m so happy. I’m a lucky Pug.
Rocky and Adrian also get “chewies” which they love. They were recommended to me by a friend who has a “Hearing Dog” and Canine Companions for Independence (where she and her dog were trained) told her that these were the only chewies dogs should have since they are completely digestible and really keep their breath totally sweet smelling. They are called C.E.T. Chews and come in a variety of sizes. I purchase them online since they are much less expensive than buying them at the vet’s office. The pugs also gnaw on Nylabone Durables - they also feel the need to chew when relaxing in front of the TV.
I am not just gonna choose one mom. I choose them all!
“Ok, who are you and what have you done with my momma?”
“Momma is that really you? Thank you for the wonderful treat, I wuff you”
OH where did these come from?! NO I didn’t steal them!!!!!!
Yes, they are all mine…. Got a Problem with that?
OMG soooooooooo cute I’ll l(L)ve it!!! And I guess Benny does too!!!
