Bubbas

Benjamin and Henry

For all the trouble it was raising two puppies at the same time, I wouldn't trade it for anything given the tight bond that the boys share. Sure, they welcomed Luna and Sol into their pack, but for a good, long time it was just the boys and from time to time it shows.

After all, these two broke their puppy teeth in together by devouring a wicker toy basket, learned to climb stairs together and always had someone else to blame for potty accidents in the house before they were fully trained.

I don't think Benny can remember a time when there wasn't a Henry around and as much as he likes to play it cool, I don't think Henry would know what to do with himself if there wasn't a Benny around.

After 8 years, they have mellowed more than I could ever imagine. But, from time to time, the boys will be playing and Henry will grab hold of that big wrinkle on the side of Benny's face and pull him around by it, the way he always used to do when they were pups. And, in that moment, it is like having two, clumsy puppies playing at my feet once more.

Aw, this post brought some watery eyes this morning…Reminds me so much of my Baxter and Riley.  There’s nothing like the bond of brothers.  Love you Henry and Benjamin…

Have a great weekend all,

What a sweet tribute to two adorable brothers.
I have decided that once Sleighbelle is gone (not for a LONG time I hope), I will get a brother and a sister.  And like you, Corrine, I know that raising two pups at the same time will be hard, I also know that the bond they will have will make all the trouble worth it.
Thanks for sharing your pug pack with us every day.

Aww, what a beautiful story of two great pugs. They are definitely two sweethearts, and their special bond is very heartwarming.

It’s a blessing being a proud pug mama. I have two pugs now and the wrinkle incident happens almost every moment these two meet up. Baby and Lulu will hopefully grow into a wonderful pair of pugs like Benny and Henry. This post really touches the hearts of many pug owners that read your blog including I. “You don’t really know what love if never owned a pug.” And this is completely true.

This is a great post!  C.J. and Toeby are close also though they aren’t blood relatives.  I got them very close together and they’ve been close buds ever since.  I love the Bubbas, that’s what I call mine too!

Sue S-Yes, you are GLORIOUSLY insane!  It’s a trial to have two youngsters at the same time but it’s well worth all the time and effort!  Best of luck!

Happy weekend all!  I’ve had a crazy-busy morning here at work and this is my respite!  Owned by Pugs has the ability to recuperate me from most anything!

Awwwwwwww, this post is like honey!  So sweet, and so true.

After owning Pugs for more than 10 years now, I feel it’s very important for them to have buddies in households because of how attention driven they are.  Having another dog to grow up with, and to have at their sides seems to me to be exactly what Pugs need to be happy.  I don’t think I would ever not have another dog in the household in the event that one of my babies was suddenly solo.

When I think of how large the age gap is between my Hooie and Tina, I am a little worried too because Hooie is 5 years Tina’s senior and she loves him!  He has been there her entire life and follows him around and really enjoys him being there.  Hooie also is very attatched to Tina, so much so that he sleeps cuddled up next to her every night.  After I had to put my first Pug Carmen to sleep, Hooie was very depressed.  When I brought Tina home, you could literally see the transformation in Hooies well being almost overnight.

I totally agree that the bonds that dogs share with each other cannot be matched.

I really enjoyed today’s post!  And I just love the picture of the two of them—what handsome profiles they both have! ! ! ! !

Really love the two boys bond. Pugs need other pugs and people who understand them.  I am house bound and really love being able to share all of your puggies. Thanks to all of you who share them with us. If GiGi ever stands still long enough I will send you some pictures.
My dad raised pugs for a while and I was the one that got one a few times. Our last two pugs were rescues, a boy 8 and a girl 4. They lived long and very fun time with us. The boy passed but the little girl Prissie moved with us.
When she passed we tried life without a pug in my Life. BUT we found this great place called Pug Hearts of Houston and they drove the 24 hours round trip to bring me GiGi. She is an older girl and the biggest clowns I have every been owned by.
PS: Be 70 soon so a puppie is not going to happen…really love sharing all of yours.

Well, I have made the decision to keep the fawn female pup and have named her SOL-my grandson and I agree that this is the best name for this little lady! Pug-hugs from the Colorado 9

Thank you all! Our dearly beloved Solsey can never be replaced-nor would I even begin to try-still brings a tear! Now baby Sol will have a brother a mom and an aunt to grow with and I can hardly wait to see how her and brother Proto’s personalities develope. Of course I will keep you all up-dated and share pics-I know-I’ve said this before-I’m just not a techy type as you may have already guessed! I will share her and her bro as much as possible. Hope all have a great day! Pug-hugs from the Colorado 5
