Big Brave Benny

Benjamin

Pretty much the only window that Benny is brave enough to stick his head out of is the back window of G-Pa's pick 'em up truck (the one that leads to the truck bed).

In our car, Benny wants to stick his head out of the window, like his brother Henry, but he can never seem to overcome his trepidations. This usually results in Benny jockeying for prime window position and then just whining at the window. We don't call him Baby Benny for nothing. grin

Big, brave Benny!  I bet you get a great view out the back winder of the pick’em up truck. And it looks like you’re hanging on with your feets for dear life.

Drools and licks,

Oh Baby Benny. You are a big brave boy aren’t you. What a sweetheart!

(I literally laughed out loud at your ‘winder’ comment Minnie and Mac. Very funny.)

Hope everyone is doing ok!

It is very, very cold here in Omaha and poor Bella will not pee! She doesn’t do stairs yet but she seriously considers running up the back steps just to get back in the house! Silly girl!

Looks like Benny is enjoying the view funny my gang love car rides but dont go near the windows
Gina when I lived in Mass my first group of pugs hated the cold and snow I would have to go out and shovel a section of the grass for them to even go out and they still were not to happy

Corrine, sounds like you and hubby need to buy a pick em up truck for Baby Benny, who does seem to be hanging on for dear life.

Sue, I used to shovel a path for my furbabies.  I still do when I am able. I say they are spoiled, but on the other hand I wouldn’t want my bum to hang in the snow.  Never had a real problem with the cold…they just did what they had to do and skedaddle back to the door.

Gina, maybe Bella needs a coat.

Oh that Baby Benny is so sweet!  This window is just right for him, instead of that scary side window!!

Corrine, you are going to go right out and trade in your vehicle to get Benjamin his own pick ‘em up truck, right?

Maybe Benny just doesn’t like the wind in his face-so is a truck in the future? The things we do for our fur babies! When Solsie & Proto were pups in training, snow covered the ground so when Spring came and there was grass it took Solsie a coule times to figure out she could pee on it! Maybe Benny needs a pair of those goggles that look so cute on the fur babies. grin

Biscuit and Rascal always ride in the back seat of our minivan, which doesn’t have roll-down windows, so they don’t have any “window head” experience.

As for a new pick-up truck for Benny, it would have to have the sliding back window, of course. We all know that Corrine has a thing for new beds, but a truck BED probably wouldn’t be as tempting. grin

That’s funny Carla…truck bed…dog bed.  We all know about Corrine and dog beds.  Yeah, we do the snow shoveling on the patio bit.

Saves the carpet?! Yeah, right.

Pug Mama, are you still out there?  I have been thinking of you and Karen B also.  Hope you are getting better by the day Robin and in less pain than you were.

Karen, I had not seen your post of yesterday until now.  Or, maybe my brain is addled.

Grannygoogs, are you doing ok?  What’s your South African weather like now?  Is it good pug weather?

Lilo N me ( aka Gwen)

Oh Benny you’re adorable looking out the window!  Lilo likes to stick her head out. OK, she prefers to almost hang out of it.  I got a good scare a year and a half ago (was dating a guy who drove like an idiot), and almost lost her out the window turning on the highway.  From now on if she wants to do that she has her seatbelt harness on and minimum i have my hand holding tight onto it.

Sue x 2, I never thought of shoveling the grass.  I wonder if that would work?? I hate walks in the winter, but Lilo started this when she wouldn’t soil the snow in Baba’s yard, and now prefers to walk most of the time.  When it’s bitter cold though she will be stubborn and will take herself off of water, and hold it for 2 or 3 days (makes me crazy). We get as cold as -22F (for my american friends).  It was down to 1F the last couple of days and Lilo is wussing out already and that’s with a thick fleece sweater, her winter coat, and little booties on. When it’s bitter cold i don’t want to walk either, so i think i will try the shoveling the grass thing, bc she is allowed to use the patio in the backyard, but doesn’t like to.

I usually make sure to have a puppy pad somewhere for her due to my long hours anyways, but she’s stubborn.

This is really bad, and she will be totally embarrassed for me saying so, but you can always tell when she has a “really good pee” though.  Her little grunts are long and loud.  Lilo and the Austin Powers pee! I’ve even timed it sometimes lol. Ok overtired, need some sleep.  Hope i haven’t grossed you all out, and Corrine doesn’t give me the boot off the page.

Love and pug hugs to all!

Oh what a vision of Lilo with her grunts…lol funny.
Thanks for sharing that Gwen, and tell Lilol it’s because she is adorable we laugh.

Benny, how sweet! It looks as if he is looking out the truck window saying goodbye to Grandma after spending summer vacation with her. And being spoiled everyday!

Gwen: This tip worked with my other Pugs many years ago when we lived in the north with tons of snow. I took a plastic boot tray and placed a real piece of grass sod on it for them to potty on. I kept it on my deck and they liked it. To them it was part of the lawn. It’s great when it is pouring down rain too. Later I replaced real sod with piece of fake grass carpet which is much easier to clean. Total cost is under $10.00. My friends who live in high story condos love this idea.
