Benny watching the tele

We recorded the local news on Monday night to watch a piece on how the sagging economy is causing many families to surrender their pets.  One of the groups stepping up in this time of need is Central Florida Pug Rescue and they were featured in the clip.

If you pay close attention, you will notice that Benjamin does not bark whenever Ann from CFPR is talking.  That is because Ann is a very good friend of Benny’s.  She once baked him a whole loaf of special “Baby Benny’s Pugkin Bread” and he has never forgotten!

Kudos to CFPR for their amazing work!

Ann, it’s me, Benny., don’t you see me?  When are you going to make me another loaf of “Baby Benny’s Pugkin Bread”?  You know I really enjoyed it.

benny is a smart one that’s for sure.  maybe he’s hoping for more bread.
on another note, i’d learn to love my bicycle before gas prices could force me to give up my pug.  what a sad news story.  i had no idea this was becomming such an issue.

The clip is hilarious!  Benny, you are such a courteous boy…and I am so happy to see you excited about the issues facing pug rescues in these difficult economic times.  We appreciate your support!  And I am baking Pugkin Bread tonight….

I’m with Trace.  I’d give up everything else before I’d give up Bennie.

I agree… living in Canada, we haven’t quite hit the same lows as the US, but our gas prices are 1.50$ a litre.. we have talked about trading in the cars to get Mopeds complete with doggy baskets, doggles, helmuts and what ever else they would need!!
Those poor puppies!

It is so funny how they remember who has given them food huh?

Wow!  I’m amazed.  I don’t understand how anyone can just give up their dogs, pugs or otherwise!  Very sad.  I know my babies are in their forever home and I’d give up my husband before C.J. or Toeby!  HaHa!

And yes, huge praise to CFPR for all they do!

Gas prices are rising, that is true, but how can anyone decide to give away an important member of the family??  You just don’t do that, you cut back on other things, but don’t give your “babies” away!
I am sad to think that happens.
My husband thinks I care more about our pug… so he wouldn’t dare mention anything unthinkable!

As for Benny…  “pugkin bread, that is the pugkin bread lady…  Hellloooo, it’s me!  Benny , pugkin bread lover.  Got Bread?”

I couldn’t even imagine not having my babies…I would eat cat food (no offense Cupid) before I would give them up…its so sad…
Much appreciation to CFPR!!!
Benny - you are a hoot! and yes very very smart! Aren’t they just amazing???!!!
Hey Mom - how come I can hear the bread lady Ann and she can’t hear me?

I feel SO bad for the families and animals that are separated because of the falling economy. And with the overpopulation of pets it just makes it worse. I do not know what I would do if I had to give up my little man.
