Remember the patch that Benny had shaved on his back when he had a CT scan in Feb of this year? Well, Benny has had almost no fur growth in that spot since it has been shaved. We had pretty much given up hope that Benny's fur would grow back at all. But right before we went to Maryland, we started the pugs on Free Form fatty acids with omega 3s and fish oil to help with their skin and coat. To be honest, I didn't think the supplements would do anything for the pugs. They were on fish oil before and it did nothing for them. If anything I was hesitant to even start them because I suspected the fish oil upset their stomach before.
Despite my concerns we started giving the pugs the supplements and BOOM Benny had a major fur grown spurt on the patch on his back! Take a look at the difference.

What's amazing is all this fur growth happened in about a span of 2 weeks! Go Benny!

Benjamin, Henry and Luna had a great time on their trip, but once we were back home they were exhausted! This was the sight when we took them to go potty. Instead of doing their business, they all just sat down for a little rest in the warm FL sunshine. I felt the same way and if the neighbors wouldn't have thought it weird, I would have laid right down with them.

No trip to MD would be complete without seeing G-Ma and G-Pa. This was the first time that Luna went to see G-Ma and G-Pa. Usually they come to visit her, so imagine her surprise when we got out of the car and there was G-Ma and G-Pa.
The boys were super happy to be back and wasted no time getting outside and hanging out by their favorite tree. The tree has stayed the same, but two little puggies have sure grown up. (Not to mention, my camera is much better now too!)

No trip back to MD with the boys would be complete without a stop at Lake Needwood. We took the boys to the lake all the time when we lived in MD and couldn't wait to bring them back for another visit after an 8 year hiatus.
The boys didn't remember the park from their puppy days, but they were still happy to be at such a gorgeous spot.
They spent a lot of time walking off trail in the grass. Luna was fascinated by the grass in MD. It is so much thinner and softer than the grass we have in FL. Luna was also curious why all the tree in MD were shedding so bad. There were leaved everywhere. In FL, Luna is used to the trees keeping their leaves.

Thanksgiving is a big travel holiday, but we decided to take a little trip to Maryland just before the holiday season officially kicked off. We had an important event to attend and thought it would be cool if Benjamin and Henry had a chance to visit where they grew up and it would be awesome to see what Luna thinks of Maryland. So since the pugs were coming with us, the only way were were going to get there was by car.
The boys have made the trip from Maryland to Florida on 4 different occasions, so they are old pros. However, we were a little concerned because they haven't made the trip in a little over 8 years. Luna does great in the car so we weren't worried about the long drive. We were more concerned with how she would handle the weather. Luna thinks that Central Florida is Antarctica and Maryland would be as far North as she has ever traveled.
But the pugs did not disappoint, they did fantastic on the long drive. They slept in the car and did great during pit stops. Their favorite stops were the ones when they ate. We would pop the trunk, get their bowls from the cooler and set them up next to the car. They would chow like they were at home in the kitchen.

I know this post is a few days early, but the pugs have decided that they are going to take a little vacation this week. In their eyes it will hardly be a vacation. Thanksgiving is coming and they must plan and ensure that everything goes off without a hitch!
So look for us Monday of next week and Benjamin, Henry and Luna will give you an update on how the big feast went.
Happy Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful week!
