Who’s That Pug?

It always surprises me how well you all know the pugs.  I was thinking about it one day, months before Sol had come into our lives, and I thought it would be cool to do something on the blog to test your knowledge of Benjamin, Henry, Luna.  So after months of sitting on the idea here is the first Who’s That Pug post.

I thought it would be neat to post an ultra close-up picture of the pugs and see if you could guess who is who from the photos.  Sol is of course included, but I think her pictures will be a little bit easier to identify because, let’s face it, one of these pugs is not like the others.  Consider her pictures the credit you get for writing your name on your test paper.

For the first post, I thought we could take a close look at the pugs’ ears and see if you can tell who is who based on the photos.  Each photo is labeled with a letter.  In the comments section, write the letter and then the name of the pugs that you think belongs to that ear.

So no one loses any sleep tonight, I will post the answers this evening (around 5pm EST).

Good luck!

Fashion Forward

Luna

If last week’s sweater was the president of the ugly sweater club, this one might be the vice president.  This fleecy coat was Henry’s when he was a pup.  He wore this in many snowstorms!

Flashback

This week’s flashback: Another one bites the dust

I love to play a game of tug with Benny.  He thinks he’s tough and that just cracks me up.

For Good Behavior

Benjamin, Henry & Luna at Paw Park

On our way to Maitland for the marathon day of eye and specialist appointments last Friday, we made a stop at Paw Park in Sanford.  Waiting patiently at two different veterinary offices isn’t the strong suit of four energetic pugs, so I like to make a pit stop at the dog park before our appointments to let them drain some of that energy to ensure good behavior later in the day.

What I love about Paw Park is that they have a sidewalk that meanders around the outskirts of the park.  This makes the park a great place to walk the pugs off leash.  When we arrive I let the pugs smell around and meet the other dogs and then we start walking on the path.  The pugs follow along, stopping to smell, and I never have to break my stride.

Since I don’t have to stop each time the pugs stop, they have to keep a close eye on me.  They don’t like it if I get too far away, so they stop and smell and then make a mad dash to catch back up.

This way they get time to smell around and everyone still gets a nice, tiring walk.

Excuse Me

Benjamin trying to get Henry to move out of his sleeping spot

Benjamin is by far the quirkiest of the four pugs.  He likes what he likes and whenever he wants something he wants it right then.  To him all gratification should be instant.  So it is amusing to watch how he acts when he wants something and can’t have it.  A good example is when one of the other pugs is in one of his favorite sleeping spots (it is usually Henry and the spot in question is almost always the dog bed on the ottoman in my office).  Benny will pace back and forth.  You can see the wheels turning in that little head of his trying to reconcile that what he wants isn’t available.  And then, after a few minutes of turmoil, he will claim whatever spot he wanted like there is nothing there.  He will just simply lay right on top of whoever is occupying what he wants.  You can look at him and tell that he is not comfortable.  He would be much better off if he picked a different spot to rest, but instead, he just lays on top of whoever is where he wants to be knowing that they will eventually get tired of him smothering them and they will move.

Yesterday, Benjamin executed his little devious plan on Henry who beat Benny to the coveted dog bed in my office.  However, it took Henry over a half an hour to get tired of Benjamin laying on him.  Henry was taking so long to move that I thought Benjamin was going to be the one to give in first.  But, Benny toughed it out and Henry finally moved up a level to the bin and Benny eventually got the spot he wanted all to himself.

Caption This #97

Henry

We took the pugs to the park this weekend and on the way home we made a pit stop to get gas.  Henry was ever so curious as to what I was doing while I was pumping the gas.  Looking forward to your captions in the comments.
