The pugs love to head out to go trick or treating. Our first stop is always Grammy's and in the picture the pugs are trying to get to Grammy's house as quickly as they can.
After Grammy's we usually make the rounds at a few other houses in the neighborhood, but this year no one was home. So we made sure to give the princess and the two frog princes a few extra treats at home.

Happy Halloween from Luna the princess and Benjamin and Henry the frog princes.

I think Luna was very happy with her princess outfit this year.

But, heavy is the head that wears the crown. After a few minutes of taking pictures, Luna decided to lay down and rest for a bit.

Benny tried to be as charming as possible.

But pretty soon he was just trying to catch some flies.

Henry thought being a prince was quite a demotion. After all, he was King Henry a few years ago.

But most of all, he was not happy that his costume had a hat once again.
Happy Halloween!

Halloween is quickly approaching and we really struggled with costume ideas for Benjamin, Henry and Luna this year. Usually, an idea just pops into our heads and we run with it, but this year, we brainstormed and searched trying to find good costume ideas.
The hard thing is that we don't like to repeat ideas, but after 5 years I think our creative costume juices are running low.
Here is a recap of the pugs' Halloween costumes over the years.

We had a very relaxing Labor Day weekend. It was still too hot for the pugs to do too much during the day, but I was very happy that things cooled off enough to take the pugs on nice walks in the evenings. On Saturday, we went to one of our favorite parks for a walk around the lake. We haven't been able to go for a walk at the park since early June so the pugs were super excited to get back to one of their favorite walking spots.
On Sunday and Monday night we were back out and about on our normal neighborhood walks and the pugs got to see some of their friends that they haven't seen in months.
I hope everyone in the path of Earl fared OK over the weekend.

We had a very nice, but low key Fourth of July weekend. Benny is still on the mend and we spent a lot of time with the pugs just relaxing around the house.
Benjamin had some expected inflammation from his surgery. He sounded like a very congested pug. As the weekend went on, the inflammation went down, which meant Benny's mood and energy level went up. And even though he was feeling a bit better he really wasn't well enough to do anything. He picked himself out a bone that we had to take away because bones don't fall under the soft food category. He scratched on the door to go outside, but was disappointed when we didn't take him for much of a walk. By Monday night Benny was fed up with us following doctor's orders and he was a cranky mess, pacing around the house, desperately trying to find something to do. So we pulled out one of our Solsey tricks and took the pugs for a car ride. This was exciting to Benny, but did not get him bouncing off the walls so it worked well.
We are still supposed to keep Benny quiet for the next few days, but at this point Benny is as well rested as a pug can get. His batteries are fully charged. Depending on how he does today, I may try and take him on a short walk to the corner and back to see how he does. I think that would perk Benny up a bit. I don't think he can handle being cooped up on the house much longer. After all, he has grass to smell and trees to mark.

Getting the pathology results on Friday helped us enjoy the holiday weekend. Benny started feeling better and was almost back to himself and after just one day of Luna's new eye drop, we started to see an improvement in her eye. Both of those things were very relieving and helped make for a relaxing weekend.
Good news, good friends, family and fun. Those were the ingredients of our much needed and much enjoyed holiday weekend.

The pugs have been resting up this week, preparing themselves for a visit from G-Ma. They need to make sure they are well rested because it is exhausting being spoiled and eating all those extra treats that G-Ma is sure to bring. Plus, they had to get their G-Ma's day card this week. Tiring, tiring stuff. A pug's job is never done.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.
